Best Scipts Ever!!

i just wanted to see everyones reactions, I'm sticking to it "some of the best scripts ever". you'll see remember this name Omar Alexander Juarez.

I'm "lawling" long and hard at the thread-starter. Is this some sort of mentally-insecure joke, or a muffled cry for help? Will we ever know? Does it really matter? These questions, and more, may never be answered.

There is one line that we, the unanswered, can gain solace in: Rest assured, "best ever" will return again.

Fare ye well, till we meet 'gain.

Actually I think its time to end it...

Look the guy came on and made a mistake like so many other people... who start out... they believe they have a great script... you never know... maybe he does... so who would have the last laugh then... but I think its time to give it a rest about the insults...

why does everyone get so defensive, when I post stuff like that? is it that you're insecure of you're writing? That when someone says they have something great you have to put them down, because they cant be as good as you?

Nope

Nope

Nope. That's not it. It's just that most of us who have been in the forums for any length of time have seen/heard the same exact words uttered before. Again and again, in fact. And, we have seen many writers/filmmakers come and go.

Brag today, gone tomorrow. Repeat. Scepticism is a natural bi-product.

Also, since your spelling and your punctuation are below standard, it begs the question; can you write a knock-out screenplay worthy of the greats?

How is it structured? How clever is your use of subtext, and how pithy your action blocks? Are your slugs consistent throughout?

Who has read these 'top notch' screenplays? Friends from the same age group and similar backgrounds? Family members? If so, you are bound to get a lot of positive feedback. But, can a proofread of your material stand the test of diverse readers? If so, you may be half right.

That said, I would love to see even one page.

One page. I dare you.

It's not that, for me is disrespectful to the craft. It's difficult just to write a BAD script. This is something you toil in, not something you pull out of your ass and proclaim "The best ever". So it's better than "Butch Cassidy" ? Better than "Ghost"? It's arrogant what you say.

That's it, keep it up. Attitudes like that will undoubtably set you right up for the Silver Screen, Pest (hey, it's the guy's name). I can hear your agent calling already.

...

Oh, sorry, it's just your English teacher. She said it wasn't enough.

Anyway, you've at the very least piqued my curiosity. If you do feel compelled to share with us but a small taste of your masterwork, count me in.

Au Revoir, Mon Amie

Yes you sound cocky(sorry but really do) and make sure you send the scripts to other people rather than just your family and friends. Keep it low profile and let other screenwriters tell you if they're amazing or not.

I read scripts as a part time job and write feedbacks so I can asure you that from the 7 scripts I read every week only 1 is OK or recommended but never great, great scripts are hard to find but hey if you really have a great script then congrats, welcome to hollywood.

Whole thread is funny. On many levels.

Look, you sound cocky because you are. You may well have the "best script ever" but it is quite a claim to make. Its annoying to other people with actual "field" experience. And not willing to show it to anyone or enter it who is really insecure here?

We all write something we feel strongly about that is really good. Cocky sometimes can be good... But there's people here with real experience that you ask for their input as if you knew you wouldnt ask.

So you should listen to (in terms of entering and stuff) If you aren't willing to sell or anything well... enter it in a contest one of the big 3 as suggested. If just want the reconition as it seems you do.

really get it copyrighted then can feel safe to show others. AND still keep it to film yourself if you wish.

As Im sure you're also "the best director" too =D

(just joshing ya, trying to help)

This is a little off topic, but maybe Pest22o is nervous somebody might steal his concept rather the script. For example, Tarantino made 3 stories in one (Pulp Fiction) and the movie that takes place after the robbery (Reservoir Dogs). Now somebody with money or connections can easily steal that unique style, and make it their way with different characters and dialogue. It would than be them who would get praised for that uniqueness instead. Just like Saw, how many things look similar to that now? You know what I'm sayin?

Which is why ...

Which is why ...

... I asked for only one page, just to look at spelling and formatting. It may be a great and original concept, but it wont make it past a reader if the mechanics are out of whack.

Keep in mind we are dicussing spec screenplays here ...

With so many scripts to read, any excuse to toss one is a good excuse, and spelling and formatting are one of the 'first things' they'll look at. The other 'first thing' is page count. 135 pages, and in the trash it goes. Next.

So, let's pretend it's at or around 110 pages. Ok, now let's crack the first page.

'Whoa' he or she says out loud as he or she reads ...

You're cow isin the feeld.

Open trash, insert screenplay, have a drink. Next.

Sorry guys but this has gone on to way to many pages. And yeah buddy you never ever ever want to use "Best Ever" in anything portraying to yourself to me it is plain cocky and if you do have something that is good, you will not get the respect or credit that you deserve. You will get bad stares.
"Sorry But thats just my "2 cents".

And i really hope that you do have the best script ever!
In my mind im the greatest director who ever lived, and i have never even directed a short film.

Cocky can be good. If your self-confidence leads make things happen - fabulous. And I say that even if your scripts are not "the best ever". I say that even if your scripts are mediocre, or below average. You are still better off than dreamers who "could" write a better script than you, or "could" direct a better movie than you, but never actually get around to doing either. At least you wrote something, which is better than nothing these other dreamers have accomplished.

However, remember the condition - as long as you make things happen. If your self-confidence merely leads you to sit back and wait for others to "make you", then you're merely a loon.

Now, how would I decide if you are an ambitious, cocky individual (who may or may NOT have talent), or merely a loon?

Simple. Only a boundless drive would justify your arrogance - again, you don't need talent, but you do need the boundless drive to justify your arrogance. And I say you don't have that. Odds are overwhelming, that you are in the category of "witless buffoon" IMHO. "Witless" - you don't have the brains to find info on your own, but rely on asking extremely primitive questions on a forum. The kind of question you ask, is indicative of it - anyone with a boundless drive would have found these simple answers for themselves already... since you didn't, it means you are not especially clever, nor especially driven.

You are doomed.

Anyhow, good luck!
