Best Scipts Ever!!

Casablanca was voted the best script ever by the Writers Guild of America.

A while back, someone changed all the names in the script and resubmitted it to the major studios and it was rejected everywhere!

I have the best camera ever, but after 3 months of poring over the user manual, I still can't find the button to make the best movie ever. Obviously, the camera company doesn't want good movies being made :)

That's interesting about Casablanca - I could see where the plot just wouldnt fly as a new release. Still a great movie though. I made the best sandwich ever - steak and spicy guacamole on a paninified roll. good stuff...

I had a meeting the other week with a director who had written six "really great" shorts. He plans on filming them one a day for a week. He had told a cinematographer that he knew, with a pretty decent track record and a bunch of films under his belt, that his reel looked great but none of the films were great. He wanted him to work super cheap because then he would have something of really high caliber on his reel. Needles to say he didn't get that DP. The scripts were loaded with deep meaning and general confusion, if you can't understand what's going on it must be deep. I spent many years in theatre and we used to say "if you don't get it, it may not be too deep for you, it might just be crap".
We'll probably never know about PEST's scripts since he's not going to show them to anyone and since he wouldn't even let Spielberg direct them, if he does shoot them it will probably be on a budget the size of a pin, and we still will never see them.
Hey but when he gets out of high-school he's going to have the time to make it big.

JDA - I'm thinking that sandwich sounds freaking amazing. Share the recipe...then I can say this thread wasn't utterly useless.

Steak: season flank steak cut into strips with salt and pepper and cook in pan with some olive oil.

Oil Mixture: Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, arugala, salt, pepper - mix in bowl

Guacamole: Avacado, garlic, lime, salt, pepper, wasabi paste (secret ingredient), a little bit of McCormick Guacamole seasoning (this stuff tastes like taco seasoning so that might work too)

Cut roll and lay faces down on griddle till crusty and golden. Baste inside with oil mix. Put meat on one side and pour some more oil mix all over the meat til its dripping. Spread guac mix on the side and smash them together. Now you and the sandwich should be covered in olive oil - this is good. put sandwich back on griddle fully assembled and place brick wrapped in foil on sandwich as to smash it good over medium heat. let sandwich brown and then flip and re-brick browning other side. Let it cool for a minute and then eat it. I always feel slimy afterwards but it tastes so good.

All ingredient amounts are to taste. If you dont like something dont use it :) Be careful with wasabi paste - its a bit strong. But oh so good.

Go for it - the panini style pressing at the end really brings it into its own. Gets a nice chewy crust on the outside and oily garlicy goodness on the inside. The arugala is key for me too - has a nice refreshing flavor without intruding on the beef and guac at all. definitely buy fresh if you can. glad this thread is getting some substance :)
