Best quality 720p MJPEG 4:2:2 settings for GF1?

Anyone have suggestions on the best pTools settings for 720p MJPEG 4:2:2? I'm not interested in 1080, just the best quality stable 720p I can get out of the GF1.

I've tried to read as many threads as I can, but with infant twins at home it's really hard for me to spend hours on it, so hopefully someone is feeling generous and can help me out.

or alternatively if you want a little less bitrate ive found the below settings give very near 100% image results with 45mbps...bonus is less chance of write errors...I used to use Paappa's and Modulrs (the best you can get) but found 70+ mbps overkill (plus still had occasional write errors even with top end sandisk card)

I use 144x1080 and correct in my editing program to correct 1080p...I find 720p to "crushed" looking

720p30 width=1440
720p30 height=1080
E1 Quality=352
E1 Table=24
E2 Quality=220
E2 Table=24
E3 Quality=200
E3 Table=24
E4 Quality=184
E4 Table=24

Yes mimirsan. I tried it. It's very nice and stable. Thank you for sharing.
Only problem is I use 720p or 1080p in my recordings and all my friends complained that they get fatter. :)

Hahahaha, their arms look bigger. Now i need to find ways for 144x1080 not to get distorted since I
use 16:9 but If I go to 1280 x 720 then that is less resolution.

If your editing program does not correct aspect ratio might as well just keep at 720p by not having the sizes ticked in ptool.
Stiil looks just as good. ;-)

canuck88, I'm in the same boat, really my twins are 11 months now and I still don't have the time to play around to much with this, but I have had more success with 720 at higher bit rates the 1080 and its easier on the computer as well.

Thanks to everyone for your responses they have helped a lot. I feel I need to start over from scratch with my hacks, I've done so many different ones I'm not quite sure which one I'm on again. I will start with the above mentioned.

It's my understanding that the "1080p" MPEG option for the GF1 is merely upconverted 720p, not true 1080p, so that would mean no actual resolution improvement. Are you guys really seeing more detail?
