Best HDMI monitor for 7D under 1000$ ???

Hi guys, is the 619 from from CoolLCD.com stil the best bet ?
http://www.coollcd.com/619aht-7-inch-hdmi-tftlcd-touchscreen-vga-monitor-new_p633.html

I'm also wondering how you use these in the field... is there a rechargeable battery inside the monitor ?

I'm assuming that although this monitor is light, it needs a bracket to be used, and it can't be directly mounted to the camera hot shoe ?

Thanks for any info.

If anyone knows of a good site with images and info of this LCD, that would be great.

dp-slr

Dp-slr looks mighty dreamy to me. Ticks all the boxes. I have a pair of dp1 off being upgraded to dp1x, but holding my breath for the dp-slr. smallhd.com. mmmm

Hi guys, we picked up the monitor, and really like it. However, when I press the record button on my T2i, the video aspect ratio changes on it,, - this doesn't affect what is being recorded, however everything is stretched out ( I'm guessing because the screen is 800x600 ) , when I finish recording, the aspect ratio on the monitor goes back to normal....has anyone else noticed this ? and how do you fix this ?

I'm talking about the 619ah monitor.

thanks for any info !

Hi, I have been searching around for a suitable 7 inch monitor with HDMI and this forum seems really informative. I was hoping someone could give me some guidance... I am on a budget but these are the options I can see:

669GL-70NP/C www.carcomputer.co.uk
619GLAH from eBay

I understand the Lilliput's are 800×480 native resolutions, but so are the Marshalls which I have seen for sale at http://www.videogear.co.uk.

Is there a major difference here? I suppose the Marshalls have more video inputs and have more heavy duty enclosures, but that's not really necessary for me...

Hope someone can help! Cheers,

Jacob

Jacob,

the eBay link you linked to... that monitor is $225, it's also exacty, EXACTLY the same monitor that www.coolLCD.com sells for $188.

Not sure why you would want to buy it off of eBay when you can buy it directly from CoolLCD for $188. See this forum and www.cinema5D.com many use that monitor.

remember that the 619AH is a monitor that many resell as their own, including www.jag35.com, everyone just buy this monitor and adds their own sticker to it.

If you want a good inexpensive monitor, then that's the one to get, many others that people have listed, are even in the $300 + range, and are no better than the 619ah.

here:
http://www.coollcd.com/hdmi-monitors-7-619aht_c833?zenid=lkotk6fpraab7hmnr6aifhn470

you can buy the 619ah or for $10 more you can get the touch screen model, it's exacctly the same, but it's also a touch screen.

The prices there are for people who do NOT know that Hong ( the guy who runs the company ) gives deals. Tell him you are from DVXUSer or Cinema5D and want the monitor for $188, and that's it.

As for your other questions, I don't know the answer.

By the way, the 619ah is an awesome monitor !

Great David, thank you for the warm welcome!

So what exactly is the difference between the 669GL at www.carcomputer.co.uk and the 619AH at Cool LCD?

As far as I can see; there are minor differences in specification, the price would work out the same with import taxes (I'm in the UK and I imagine Cool LCD is in China or Hong Kong), both have 1× HDMI input (all I need), LED backlight...

What's the difference here?!

I'm going with the Lilliput, as well. This is what I can afford. My question is where can I purchase batteries for the monitor? I figure, ebay, but does anyone have the battery model number? Thanks.

I think I may go for the Lilliput also, mainly because it is a UK seller and communication is always easier. I just need to wait for it to arrive in stock as it is saying 'shipment due' on www.carcomputer.co.uk. I'll wait for more replies on this thread in the meantime

The battery that is paired with this monitor is http://www.carcomputer.co.uk/shop/p...ni-battery-mobile-power-for-lilliput-monitors

It says there are no mounting options with the battery so I don't know if there are better solutions out there, but it's compatible with this monitor so it's peace of mind i guess.

I'm not sure whether the ebay store I purchased my batter from stills exist, here's a link to the auction http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220326836938&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

If this doesn't work here's a link to the thread on Cinema5d discussing batter options:
http://www.cinema5d.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6473&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=30

I have this battery and it works great.

I think that saying that you can compair the Ikan V8000HDMI to a liliput is like saying you can compare any 50mm f2.0 lens to a Zeiss 50mm zf f2.0 lens. Specs don't equal real life function and quality. There is a lot more to consider than what a manufacturer puts down on paper...

Is the Liliput a great deal, yes. Is it better or equal to the Ikan... No. Is it worth the difference in cash? That's up to you. for me I wish I had saved more and got a marshall lol.
