I'm working with Vegas pro 9 and was wondering for those of you that are editing on Vegas what setting is best for editing the DSLR? I'm shooting on the t3i at 1920x1080 24fps and was wondering if this is a good rate to shoot at or should I change it to? I'm also shooting on the hvx200a with the setting 720 24pn and will be matching the footage together. Thanks in advance.

If you're shooting 1080p24 with one camera, you should be shooting 1080p24 with both cameras. Why shoot in 720p with the second camera, only to have to up-scale it in order to match it to the other footage?

As for 1080p24 being "a good rate to shoot at", shooting in 720p is going to result in more noticeable moire and aliasing on the T3i, so shooting in 1080p is your best bet. As for 24p, that really depends on the look you want. Does 24p enhance your story with the film-like movement, or does 30p work better for you? The choice of 24p vs. 30p is all about aesthetic, and which one is best or more preferable for each project.

It really has nothing to do with your NLE.
