Best D-Tap to AF100 cable

when i bought my AF101 there was battery, but also a cord with small box on 1 end that looks like a small battery - its for power the cam with regular 220/110 v, so as i understand its is what i can use with the unit i shown (i think its lanparte). 1 end will go into 7.2 volt hole 2nd with the box will go there where battery should be.

plus with that unit u also get HDMI splitter, all different voltage so u can power monitors, transmitters, splitters, external recorders.... , usb to power usb devices. and u dont need to buy a separate V/gold mount charger in order to charge your V/ gold mount Battery, as the unit comes with the charger that connects to the unit and will charge your battery

unit also comes with V mount or with Golden mount - so u can choose

so i think its preaty cool for the money, -

i ve seen a review here from an owner of sony fs100 - he told it works perfect and he even got 2nd unit later......probably for 2nd cam

I get the camera battery adapter for the Panasonic charger so it use AC power, it’s the plug size that would go into that ebay unit.
Those round plugs come in several different sizes so the Panasonic battery adapter with the cord might not have the same plug that fits the ebay unit.
Other than that it’s cool and versatile.

This is what looks like the coupler for a 5D.

Hard to know if it would work on the AF-100’s battery adapter.

btw, they also selling same kind of adapter for canon 5d

anyway, i think that even if it will not fit - there must be some kind of extenders , that will give u different plug sizes....., but i think that kind of connector is standard 1 for 7.2 v.

this is same but with golden mount

here is how splitter and their battery looks like
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-Shoulde..._Tripods_Heads_Stablisers&hash=item27bf23982b
seems like tons of connectors....

also seems like their (lanparte) battery 130WH - is the cheapest on market.... i believe the weight is 1kg.

there is also from different brand
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fotga-DP500...740?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab3a2dc14

and if u dont want the rod attachment thing there is also:

still if say true i think lanparte is more reliable unit among others...

but anyway i think i went too far away from topic now

all i know about d tap cables they are kind of expansive

I think the AF100's connector size is 1.7mm Center Pin x 4.75mm OD Bulkhead. I ordered a jack this size for a custom solution I'm making. It should arrive in the mail today so I can confirm this size later today. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks. I’m leaving next Thursday for a 10 day shoot and wanted to get the camera and EVF/monitor all powered with the power station. The smallhd monitors work perfect with it but no go with the AC adapter for the AF-100. Let me know if you get the plug size. I’m going to see today if I can get a adapter for it like a female end.

I used n Anton Bauer battery plate which has a pig tail with the AF connector and 12v D Tap to power my RR Canon lens adapter or my Canon 2/3 lens zoom.

Just got back from a local electronics store and here is what I got to make the Laneparte AB power dock 7.2v camera power port work with the AF-100 AC power adapter.

The 7.2v camera out on the dock is 1.4mm x 3.8mm jack.

The AF-100 battery adapter that goes to the charger has a 1.7mm x 4.75 Coaxial plug.

I also purchased a two foot cable however the cable is to thick. Should have got a thinner version but was still able to make the cable.

I made an adapter with a 1.7mm 4.75mm in-line jack on one end and a 1.4 x 3.8 plug on the other end that will go into the power dock.

Center is positive. Tried it and it works perfectly.

Thanks. I know about that one but the Laneparte has six different coaxial outputs and two HDMI outs. Plus a D-Tap.

Nice! This also confirms that my order (arriving today) was the right size. Thanks for your imput.

I'll be posting my set up here soon. It will be soldered directly onto the back of the battery plate, it will have a short pigtail to power my Hyperdeck Shuttle 2, a D-Tap, and a jack to receive the AF100 power adapter. The HDS2 pigtail and D-Tap are pass thru, so the volts remain the same as the battery, and the camera input jack will be 7.2 volts.

OK here is one that Abel Cine has for $219.00
http://www.abelcine.com/store/Anton-...asonic-AF-100/

Using this for the past 6 months.
Mule

price is same as lanparte unit, but lanparte has a lot of extras: rods attachment, different Voltage for all kind of accessories, usb charger, hdmi splitter, + but also u can charge your golden mount or v mount battery from that lanparte unit, u dont need to buy anything extra to charge your battery.....

All true but unfortunately the Laneparte doesn’t come with a cable to charge your battery. I like the product but it lacks ALL the cables to complete the package. It does come with several that fit the 12v plugs but not the small 7.2 plug.
As for the cable I made just use go to a electronics store and tell them the size of the plugs and make a cable. The cable I bough is to think so I would get the thinest one available.

wait are u sure it cant charge the battery? i was 100% sure about it until u told that...... :-( , as i know u get AC adopter together with power splitter unit, so i thought if u put battery on power splitter and connect that ac adopter u could charge the battery with that lanparte unit........ if no its a minus....... but still u definitely get more for the same price then with Abel Cine unit

any ideas on good and not too expansive V mount charger?

I'm not saying it cant but out of the box I have no way to charge my gold mount battery with it. I wish the company had more information about the product. Other than that I like it.
I would buy a charger from the same company that makes the battery. These seem good and I believe others here have tried them.

oh i see, - well i am getting lanparte power splitter with v mount 130wh battery , so i ll probably be able to charge it...... anyway when i ll get one i ll let you all know...
about the info ...... kind true, could be more, but its probably same problem i think for all china companies...... same was with tilta as i remember...

anyway thanks a lot for fresh review!

Here is the solution I made. I used this circuit board inside this enclosure with this 1.7mm pin x 4.75 OD Bulkhesd DC power jack for powering the AF100. I had the D-Tap left over from something I no longer use. The D-Tap, which I use for powering my DP6, and power for the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 is pass thru direct power from the battery. I soldered to the back of the battery plate, came out the side of the battery plate, came in the enclosure, and then split the power 3 ways, one to the circuit board, one to the Hyperdeck shuttle plug, and one to the D-Tap.

Has anyone had any luck with the Switronix battery adapter? I bought the $100 thingie with the dtap on one end, a box in the middle, and a panasonic battery replacement on the other. It doesn't work with my A/B Hytron battery to power the AF100. Power indicator light on camera lights for half a second and then goes out.

My meter says 7.3 volts coming out of it. Indicator lights on battery adapter says everything's working. But no joy.

Just to follow on the Switronix adapter - it's a mechanical fitting issue. You can press in on the adapter and get it to connect. But it won't work if you're not pressing on it.
