Behind the Screams: Eli Roth on the making of "Knock Knock" all with Canon 1DC

Filmmaker Eli Roth's new movie, "Knock Knock" was shot entirely with the Canon EOS 1DC. If you're planning a trip to Sundance this year you can attend his workshop and find out why they chose to go that direction. The workshop is called "Behind the Screams" and it looks like its on Sunday, January 25th, at 3pm.

There isn't a trailer yet for "Knock Knock". Here's a little article about the movie that includes some still frames.

I'm curious what people think the right price of the EOS 1DC should be? Whats its value to you as a filmmaker?

Finance the Canon C100 for $129 a month
Finance the Sony FS7 for $248 a month

If it had a few other key upgrades:

- 10 bit internal
- more fps
- dpaf
- zebras, waveforms, peaking
- and some kind of optional xlr interface

The $8,000.00 price tag would be a more competitive item within the market. As it sits now I can't see many professionals making the purchase even with the price drop, you just aren't getting enough for your money. It's a shame because there is a market for a camera like this. Panasonic will never develop a full frame sensor and I personally wouldn't touch an a7s/shogun with a 10ft stick. There is nothing else as compact, rugged and capable as the 1dc and I hope it's successor(yes I believe one is coming) lands with the additional features @ the same price point.
