If Jobless is still active on DVXUser, he may have further insight, but here are the "D" settings he published in a post from June 2010:As I have said I have three HACKED GH13s that started off initially with the Jobless D settings which are in the hack forum. I then tweaked them just a little bit but not much - including turning 24p native on (which everyone hates because of some stability issues but it works flawless for me and good riddance to pulldown removal). So my max is at 52mbit low is 20mbit avg 42mbit and this seems to get me amazing results on class 10 transcend 32 gig cards..with only a small tiny tiny sprinkle of camera locks...
Note that the settings labeled "C" above are not the same as the "C" settings that were displayed as help text in earlier versions of PTool. And since the obsolete "Limiting bitrate adjustment" patch is not available in current versions of PTool, Jobless' original settings can no longer be used without modification. PTool 3.51d now labels its recommended settings as "1", "2", and "3":Video bitrate adjustment - c)40000000 d)50000000 e)60000000
Overall bitrate adjustment - c)46000000 d)56000000 e)66000000
Limiting bitrate adjustment - c)50000000 d)60000000 e)70000000
PTool's 1) and 2) settings are conservative patches that produce lower average bitrates than my Reliable In-Camera Playback Patch. PTool's 3) settings (originally known as the "C settings") are similar to the settings in my Fast Action 3-Frame GOP Patch, but lack the stabilization patches that enable the use of short GOP-lengths in 720p 25/30fps modes.Video bitrate FHD/SH - 1)22000000 2)32000000 3)50000000
Overall bitrate adjustment 1)24000000 2)34000000 3)52000000
As Blackout details, Jobless' original "D" settings produce a patch with average bitrates that max out at around 50Mbps. However, the peak bitrate of this patch (and any patch whose Overall Bitrate exceeds 54000000) can potentially spike up to nearly 75Mbps. While it requires extremely detailed, well-lit, sharply-focused scenery to provoke recording failures at such high bitrates, it can happen on occasion, even with the fastest Class 10 SD cards.
Jobless' "E" settings are not quite as high as those in my recent 75Mbps Peak Performance Patch, which uses several stabilization techniques to improve its reliability at high bitrates. However, to my knowledge, none of these patches have ever been systematically tested to work reliably with the non-interlaced, Native 24p patch in 1080p FHD mode. Blackout's impressive results with his own Native 24p customized settings is a remarkable feat that I have been unable to replicate.
