Haha, this is pretty much the way i explain encoding and codec's to people I have to work with, 'then we inject magic and make it pretty'

indeed mr omega, just for fun guys... yet i'm a grumpy old GH1er who's failed SEVERAL times to locate what i'm looking for :smile:
i've given up using the search function as search pretty much any word and it brings up the entire thread history in a different order of course.
i actually just realised its a hat :smile:
 
As I have said I have three HACKED GH13s that started off initially with the Jobless D settings which are in the hack forum. I then tweaked them just a little bit but not much - including turning 24p native on (which everyone hates because of some stability issues but it works flawless for me and good riddance to pulldown removal). So my max is at 52mbit low is 20mbit avg 42mbit and this seems to get me amazing results on class 10 transcend 32 gig cards..with only a small tiny tiny sprinkle of camera locks... maybe 1 in 1000 takes... so much so that I have not wanted even TOUCH my setting to go to the higher bitrates (iplowell 75mbit?!!) because I have NEVER seen another GH13 record as clear as my A camera GH13.. even my B and C cams do not have the magic that the A cam does.. I don't know exactly why... manufacturing variance on the chip..... magic? The power of the demons I summoned in the sacred circle? My magical top hat? My spectrovision superultra goggles? Bugs Bunny's cane? Could be any of these things.

i tried the sacred circle trick but wasn't much better than the B settings, waiting on hearing back from ray milband about those specs! all the best :smile:
 
If you install the latest stable patch and don't go over 52 mbit you should get very close results in avchd quality that is 98.3% stable.. the other magic ingredient beyond my ski goggles (which were given to me....) would be editing natively... I don't transcode to cineform or prores and it DOES make a difference... it degrades your quality just a tinsy tad. I found sony Vegas to be the best avc encoder period.... I edit in Edius 6, but I master in Sony Vegas.
