No, what you found is AC-DC adaptor. It'll power your camera, but it needs an AC power source.
What you need is a step-up/down converter.
Something like this is the more common solution: http://dolgin.net/Power-Lumix.htm

Currently, im living overseas so my costs are more for electronics. I've purchased one of these and its working just fine with my GH2:
Amazon.com: Portable 3-in-1 5v 9v 12v DC 6500mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Battery - to power zoom on 2/3" video lenses Panasonic AF100 GH1 GH2 Olympus PEN E-P3: Electronics
(I bought mine straight from a Chinese dealer, for about $40)

On top of that, you need one of these:
And you need this with that purchase:
Panasonic DMW-DCC8 DC Coupler for DMC-GH2 and GF2 DMWDCC8GU

The only pitfall, is that I dont have an accurate power gauge so if im running this all day, I risk loosing power suddenly. But it should be able to power my GH2 straight for an entire day if not 2 days. I use this to power both my GH2 and a 9v LED light for hours at a time. But its also Chinese, so probably will get a good year outta it, then ill have to trash the pack.

ahh i see, much thanks!
yeah i'll look at that solution!

An important note, when your powering your GH2, YOU CANNOT GO ABOVE 10v. So make sure you test and mark your plugs properly before using any of these power converters.
Typically, i run around 9.3v outta one of these battery packs. For more information on powering your GH2 and other* solutions:
GH2 8.4v Battery test results (timelapse)
This will give you some background on battery solutions... If you decide to go the DIY/Cheapo route. If not, then just buy the http://dolgin.net/Power-Lumix.htm setup and use standard Sony Batteries.

useful info, much appreciated!

You can search for CCTV battery packs. They only go up to 12V though. As for powering, within the next week I'll place a circuit board in-line inside my AC adapter (the bit that goes in the camera) that will ensure I only input a max of 9V as well as ensures the polarity is correct - if polarity switched somehow, no power goes to the camera.

dang, im waiting on the gh3 and since I don't know the compatibility i might not get this yet
thanks though!

I just use this, works with any battery up to 23v DC.
But it wont boast up, so the battery you use must be over 9v.
Anyhow, i did a DIY battery pack that works VERY well from a 14.4v 6800mAh LiPo battery.
But this Chinese CCTV battery comes in a very nice neat little package, and i can even make use of the 12v and USB ports all at the same time. Kinda handy in some cases.

Awesome! At five bucks its easier than me building a circuit. Thanks!

The Dolgin plate mentioned above is amazing!
I am using it with Panasonic batteries from my HPX170 and it holds the camera plus the DP6 monitor (with secondary output) for over 4 hours!!! Two batteries and you're good for the whole day!

Thank you for the kind comment Victor. How is the plate's smart power gauge indicator working out for you?

One thing: 6 NiMh cells, be they D, C, AAA, or AA add up to 7.2v. With Panasonic's $15. battery coupler and cheap battery holders you have a lot of mAhs. I have a Switronix vmount brick that pumps down to 7.2v for another camera. A little connective wiring and it can for the GH2, too. Or a $130. GH2 specific coupler. Just DON'T reverse your polarity. For a lot of the concerns in this thread I'd suggest that if you are going to monkey with power to your expensive little camera you might want to spend a few bucks on a Volt-Ohm meter. It won't be a one-time use item and they're reasonably priced.
