C100: BandH special until 11/28. C100 Body only

B&H and Adorama are offering the same deals. Also the C100 MK2 has an instant $1500 price reduction. Reduced price is $3,999. The $1500 priced reduction also applies to various C100 MK2 kits. Funny, no price reduction on the original C300 MK1.

The website says: "More coming soon". Since I missed it too I'm hoping for the best. BTW, I never found this deal on Adorama.

Crossing my fingers they do but not sure if they will since if you look at the DPAF version there's a label that says "limited quantity." I'm not crazy for the DPAF one but if they don't restock the other one I might have to jump on that one.

Or maybe wait and see if they drop the 1DC or c300.

Did you ever get your URSA Mini?

Yes I did. Not a bad camera, but after some tests I'm debating whether I should keep it or not. When shots are slightly underexposed the camera produces fixed pattern noise in the blacks and some weird lines. Also, my screen has a couple of dead pixels. Overall the image when exposed right is great but it seems it needs a certain sweet spot for it to produce magic. This I have a problem with because there are some days when I just want to grab and shoot stuff without having to light heavily, but with this camera I can't. At least when shooting indoors I can't.

Also, the noise on the camera is blocky noise not organic like canons noise. Overall it's a good camera for the price but just unsure if I wanna commit to BM. And it scares me that I already have dead pixels on my screen and I've only had it for 3 weeks. So when I saw the c100 deal I was wanting to jump on that and focus investing in lenses versus camera bodies that go down in price every year. Either way if I go with BM or not I'm returning it to get either another UM46 without dead pixels or some canon cam.

But FYI I'm very indecisive and I change cameras all the time so I don't know. LOL

The images are too small to examine, but I know what you mean...typical BM cameras. It's always something with one of them - I've owned them all.

Yup! I've owned most of the BM cameras as well and it's kind of sad that these things are a norm for them. I just had hope they got it right with this one but it seems they haven't.

As I'm sure you know...when you underexpose BM cameras, the images fall apart right away. Besides YT compression, I can make out the FPN, which always appears in situations like this. And the noise in general (especially rainbow chroma noise) is probably not nice. Crushing blacks more may help.

Although you can see in parts of your video that even a little bit of light helps right away, these cameras just simply hate low light...or no light.

I just purchased two C100 cameras with DPAF! At $2300 each they're an absolute steal for event video, especially since each camera comes with an additional battery for free ($150 value). Insanity.

When Canon comes out with a Mark III that has the touchscreen DPAF of the 1DX II I'll upgrade. But until then, these should work just fine.
