^Gee, I haven't noticed that kind of discount. If anything, ebay is generally higher due to the whopping 10+3% take for both them and PP.

Be it as it may, it is true in many cases for the reason I described and the fact that some just don't know how to shop-around and some ebay sellers know this.higher than what? a new bag? that makes no sense....
Yes, Roadie IIAre you concerned about airline treatment of max size of carry-on? That was my main criteria... I personally use Cinebags for most of my gear. What style are you thinking?
Toby look on ebay. ebay is a good place for bags. Ive found portabrace stuff for 1/3 of new cost
... a shoulder bag at this stage would be preferable... Even so I would think that I could carry this as luggage.
Hey Josh,
Just had bit of a browse. I'm a little bit anti-portabrace as one of the guys in my class has one but I just don't see it working for me. The one he had almost was just one big space in a bag and looked quite tattered and unorganised. I'm sure they have other models but I want something that is going to last. What do you use?
I feel that we are in a service business, right? So when I arrive on location I can impress (if I want to) the client by opening my case (The Coffin) and I can be up and rolling in 5 seconds. Even if I have no intention of doing such a thing, my goal is to impress and there is a benefit of being seen as "Ready To Go", whereas my competitors may need a quarter or half hour just to piece their rig together. I had this case custom made.
An added benefit is that I no longer have to seat belt it in my passenger seat which is a PITA if I have a crew member who needs to sit there. Also, if I need to move it into the back and then I slam on the brakes in bad traffic, my baby is protected.
This was discussed over a year ago so if you do a search you'll find others' solutions. I find that when I arrive, even when I'm early, there's so much to do and discuss, choose which bagel, etc., that the more I do the night before the better my morning will be, so I have it all configured based on their gig and safely protected in The Coffin.

Correct. However not all aircraft overheads are created equal. I would hate standing in the middle of the aisle left "holding the bag". Or, some pesky attendant constantly on me to shove the bag completely under the seat. Soft luggage for carry-on......I believe it is *technically* the largest case available that can be stowed overhead in planes...

I somehow missed you were in Australia Toby. What does $650 AU convert to in USD? Here those bags are about $280.
