C100: Bag / Case for C100?

I was looking for a bag that would allow me to store my Canon C100 in an upright position with handle attached. I settled on the Tenba Roadie II HDSLR/Video Shoulder Bag. The Roadie II could easily hold two C100's without breaking down the camera next to each other. Another plus is all the dividers that come with the bag which allows for various custom solutions. The side pockets are pretty big it holds a 312 LED with Sony L batteries comfortably. A cable management bag also fits comfortable on top of my accessories on the left.

The Roadie II shoulder bag comes with an additional tray/audio bag (not shown in the photos) that should you wish to break down the C100 you could fit two on the lower level and place the additional tray/bag on top of the of the C100's to store other accessories. I opted not to break down my C100.

+1 for the Tenba Roadie II. Love this bag.

Tenba Roadie Universal - just took this on a three city shoot, fits 4 lenses, camera ( handle off) bunch of batteries, mics etc.
fits in the overhead nicely, has strap attachment for sticks... Highly recommend.

I give the Petrol PD443 Dr. DSLR camera bag my vote. Its tall enough to allow the handle to be attached and big enough for 2 spare lenses, wireless mic set, Zacuto EVF, batteries and more.

Hmm I seem to be the only one with a hard case! heh - for some reason I'm not as comfortable knowing my camera is just in a bag (or maybe I don't trust how I transport everything?)
Pelican 1510 for me. Have to take the handle off, but definitely don't feel like I could accidentally break something by dropping it etc etc.
Holds the C100, Rode Video Mic, Sennheiser Lav (in a seperate case even), Marshal Monitor, cables, a few lenses, t3i.

Hey everyone, we just shifted from a FS700 to a C100 Mk2. We were using a Kata case for our Sony kit but the change in gear is as good an excuse for a bag rethink as anything. Ideally I'm after something cavernous that can be worn on the shoulders.

From the consensus here the Tenba Roadie II seems to be the way to go. How would it go fitting a fully assembled C100 with handgrip and top handle, 6 lenses (Canons 18-135, 50, 85 and 10-22, Sigma 18-35 and 70-200), 3 batteries and a few assorted odds and ends (2x lapels, few cables, cleaning kit and AA batteries)? And could I throw in a 5D body as well or is that pushing my luck?

Cheers

1510 for me too. It holds so much safely and is a respected fit in the overhead...I've even gotten compliments from TSA on the case.

I rather love my Billingham 307 and this week I used it to take a C100, grip and handle attached etc, with a 16-35 and 24-105, on a lightweight shoot.
...
Having said I'll never buy a Billingham because it marks me out as a BBC knob...

When I had C100 that was exactly what I was doing though with 24-70 instead of 24-105. And I still have the Billingham 307 and use it - not afraid of being BBC knob :) - who cares...

All that would fit in the Roadie II with room to spare. I don't have quite as many lenses in mine, but I have other stuff.

The end pockets are perfect for wireless lav... one end holds both of my sets + all the little bits... the other end pocket has my batteries and other small stuff.

I think I've put about that much gear in mine and flown with it as a carry on. I don't think you'll be able to do it fully assembled though.

Pelican 1510 for me.

Majority of my work is travel(LA, FL, NY, Europe, Japan, etc) own 3 1510's but given the empty weight/storage space they don't get used much for travel unless I need to check something. I shifted from pelican to a variety of thinktank bags and should have done so sooner. Never had any issues with durability or breaking something inside.

This tenba shoulder bag looks like a versatile solution for travel. Wonder how small it can fold up with nothing in it(curious if it would fit in my soms 2.0 that always gets checked).

Thanks for the replies re: the Roadie II. One follow up query...

It seems most people here have opted for the shoulder bag version. We have a couple of huge Kata shoulder bags that we can add dividers to so I guess the only real benefits of the Roadie shoulder bag would be the smaller profile, carry on advantage and I guess a snugger fit for the gear. The backpack version is more interesting to us as would allow us to work in difficult locations a little easier (ladders, construction sites, confined spaces, etc). I assume the storage depth of the backpack profile is more restricted versus the shoulder bag though.

Does anyone know if a fully assembled C100 can be stored in the backpack, or is that really the domain of the shoulder bag only?

Couldn't tell ya if it'll fit in the backpack for sure, but there are ways to make it work (though at the expense of how much stuff you can cram in there).
I use a different backpack when I'm shooting in the mountains or somewhere I'll have to snowboard or snowmobile into. A backpack makes sense for that kind of stuff where the mobility is more important than convenience. However, anywhere else and I much prefer a shoulder bag. The reason is speed of access. You can pull out the camera and shoot without having to put the bag down and unzip it.

Considering purchasing a bag as opposed to a hard case some time in the near future. This thread is a few years old, are there any specific products/brands that have managed to succeed the Tenba Roadie? Just coming out of film school and the Tenba hasn't exactly come down in price so making sure I do my research.
