Attention Canadian AF-100 Enthusiasts

I just emailed a question to the regional account manager there. Asked him how many units did Canada receive in total. Will report back if I get an answer.

Is there anyone from Panasonic Canada that comes to the boards? I would think in today's marketplace that someone would at least 'look in'

To be honest, the lack of communication from Panasonic Canada makes me feel like they dont care about Canadian purchasers or businesses. And I dont mean lack of communication on the boards, that's understandable, I mean lack of communication with the retailers and dealers. I try to support local businesses and our economy but if this is the way they operate, I, and I'm sure many others in the future will just buy from the US. It's a shame really.

I just got off the horn with Cinequip White and all they've heard is that Panasonic is building up stock to do a big shipment mid January :(
Apparently, as we all know, the first shipment was really limited (even more so in Canada it seems). Well at least I won't hold my breath now waiting for my Voigtlander adapter to get here before I head back to Toronto.

Looking at how the units are shipping in the US, I should have left my order with Abel…

As the person who recommended a Canadian dealer to you, I do feel bad, but I purchased all my cams from them before, including the HMC150, which I received serial number XXXXX000008. I think the Holidays played havoc with the best intentions of the Panasonic mice and men. We should have our cameras soon, I am sure!

Lorne Lapham in Vancouver just came through for us. We now have our very own 100. One of 3 or 4 that are known about in Canada. We put our order in a long time ago and they held off the circling masses until we could get there and pick it up. It'll be out shooting this week.

As for Canada, the Western Panny rep might not show up on these boards like Jan, but she has always done a great job for us and really helped us a bunch even though she didn't always need to.

Knowing her attitude I'm sure they are doing all they can to get the cameras to retailers.

Anyone in Calgary ordered a AF100? I called Vistek and they said they don't expect the camera in cowtown until mid-Feb. I'd love to see one before pulling the trigger ...

Woah that is awhile for something being released when it was. No idea why canada has no cameras. Maybe bh would have been the better way to order.

But having seen one, you will not be disappointed if you order blind. Its a solid camera and no where near the build of an hvx. It exceeded my expectations of how i thought it would feel.
