Ninja and SSD for me... if they get the HD-SDI out quickly enough, then it seems a great solution.
no ninja with hdmi .... don't like flimsy unlocked connectors carrying footage you possibly couldn't shoot a second time
The Ninja seems like a cool device but:
You have to build the drives yourself. Do not run with a spinning HD.
SSD drives are far too expensive.
HDMI carries no timecode infomation.
HDMI has a very poor connector.
I have been using the Nanoflash for about a year now with 0% failure rate and I get to choose the bitrate.
Just a thought.
Voila! Posted in another thread - locking HDMI - http://provideocoalition.com/index.php/awilt/story/locking_hdmi_cables/
what still worries me is the quality of the touch screen, having some real buttons on the top and bottom or the sides as a redundant configuration wouldn't be a bad idea for them. Cinedeck does the same thing, though the quality of the touch screen is pretty much the highest grade out there. but it's got buttons just in case or if you just aren't the touch screen type of person.
