Atomos Ninja Now Shipping According To Press Release - SDI Samurai at $1495.00 USD

like variable frame rate support? what is the current schedule for the Samurai's release?

We have not released the detailed functionality of the Samurai yet. As far as variable frame-rate support is concerned: it will record whatever it receives over its HD-SDI connection - but it will not support higher data-rates like 1080p60, because of the limits of the storage media. You would need a different architecture to support those data rates. We are showing it at NAB, and it is scheduled for release in the (northern hemisphere) summer.

I don't mind its not support higher data rate, aslong it will record 24p am pretty satisfy. It would be nice to record higher framerate on it in the future dough.
But for now we can mix the slow mo from the standard codec with the Samuria footage. Maybe we can poke Panasonic to do a firmware update to support SDI
output on its 50 or 60p slow mo.
