C100: Atomos Drops the Ninja Assassin. Looks pretty great!

That is a strong point, although I wanted to stay away from converters. My thing is if I went with the PIX 5 I then have to buy some of the extras, while with the assassin I have everything already. BUT I also want to be able to shoot DCI 4K...so yea

That's $700 for an SDI plug ! I'd rather buy an atomos S2H connect converter. plugs in the battery slot.

I'm tempted about this kind of product, because as much as I like my ninja blade, it can't record 50p for my C100 MKII...and no lut, no framelines, no 4K for the future...
But even if I can sell my blade for $500-600, that's still another $700 to buy the assassin ....worth it ?

I'm also guessing this will be compatible with the proper sunhood the shogun has.

To be fair, it's only a $400 difference and the Shogun has other things besides SDI that separate the two (like raw). The Assassin only comes in a barebones package at $1300 and the Shogun barebones is $1700.

The Atoms Connect converters are only for HD signals up to 30p.

thats right, but if I sell my blade I'll include all accessories, so I would need the whole package in the new shogun / assassin :/

Exactly why I would go with the Shogun over the Assassin. I think the fairly reasonable price difference is worth it for those extra yet worthwhile features.
