Probably 10 or older... the only reason is because kids are impressionable... I don't want them going around thinking they're wizards.

As soon as they show interest in watching it.

... says the guy without kids and whose parents let him watch Halloween when he was 5.

My mom let me and my younger sister watch the Exorcist when we were little kids. If you even SAY the word Exorcist to my sister now she wont sleep right for days LOL
Hmmm, I'm supposed to be going over to her house this weekend, MUST FIND A COPY OF THE MOVIE!

Yeah, I guess that can play an impact for some people. In Jesus Camp the kids are taught that Harry Potter and the concept of wizardry are evil.

At what age would you let your child see Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone?

Please vote in the poll and leave any comments as to why you chose the age you did.

My wife and I were discussing this today as we are trying to gauge when we should introduce our daughter to the first movie in the series.
I would love to see what everyone else is doing.

Please only vote if you have both seen the movie and have children.
I know that my kids radar for movies was terrible until I actually had kids.

Have your kids read the books.

LOL, it would only happen once.

"Look, Mom, I can fly a broomstick too!" ER trip soon to follow. Fantasy destroyed.

I voted 8-9, as that's usually when Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny become evident to them as false.

Good advice. She reads plenty but I'm not sure if she's ready for that book yet. I'll have to ask my wife as she's read them. I figured that the reading level was probably above that of a six year old.

Good advice all around. I think we're going to hold off on introducing her to the movie until she's just a tad older.
