I was wondering if any of you ae using the WFT-E8 Wireless File Transmitter Support?
I have used a wifi transmitter in the past, but that was a hellride to get it to work, it was in the old days.

So the specific question is if any of you use it with the C300M2 and did you have an easy job setting it up?

We used it in class at Canon Hollywood, works a charm. Have to say though that we didn't set it up, it was already set up.

It's super easy to set up. Much easier than with the original C300. Activate [Browser Remote]. The settings are pre-loaded with a simple default password and the camera's unique auto-generated network name. You go on your phone or other device and join the network like you would any WiFi connection. From there you just open a browser window and enter the supplied IP address. Add one of the supplied user names and passwords (one user or two can join) from [Browser Remote]>[User Settings] when the browser asks for it. It's all customizable for greater security. You can get an idea of how simple it is by using the C300 Mark II menu simulator [System Setup]>[Network Settings] here: http://learn.usa.canon.com/resources/articles/Simulators/c_300_mark_11.shtml

Thanks Bud & Puredrifting,

I assume and can understand that the setup will work just fine, with the E8, however, all I see when I watch some youtube films about it, that it is used as a remote. That is nice to know, but I want to use it as a playback monitor, for clients, so just a fiullscreen monitr for iPad or something.
Is that possible too?

There is considerable delay and you are not getting more than about 12FPS for monitoring. Useful for framing and perhaps a bit of focus but I would always want to use a real video monitor to video monitor. The wireless setup is to start stop, adjust parameters and sort of see your image in choppy low res. It is far from a monitoring solution.

thank you guys, so the solution for me will then be to get a Teradek Bolt to attach to a monitor I suppose.

Just got the WFT E8 and upgraded my firmware. I tried out the E8 yesterday and its better than the E6 was but still not full motion video. These are great for when you have the camera in an exterior car situation or have the camera stashed some place where its not very accessible. The set up for either the E6 or E8 is greatly simplified as compared to the Mk1. For me its a no brainer accessory to own even if the video isn't full motion over the wifi connection.
