Hi,
Just came back from a trip to India....had bought a Sandisk Extreme 32 GB SDHC Class 10 for my 60D before the trip...(from a reputable supplier)
Unfortunately after one photo it died...

I have updated firmware, checked it works in a computer, tried formatting card in camera (doesn't work)...meanwhile my other 16GB Sandisk Extreme Class 6 works perfectly...

but now comes the problem....

Canon Australia says this 32 GB card should work in the 60D...
Supplier says fact card works in a computer means there is nothing wrong with card...it is Canon's fault...

Everyone points the finger at each other...I am left with an expensive piece of plastic...

What should I do?

Can anyone confirm that a Sandisk 32 GB Extreme SDHC card does indeed work in the Canon EOS 60D? Thanks.

thanks for the replies....

am just not sure what to do...san disk have not replied to me...supplier says the card works fine in the computer...Canon says there is nothing wrong with their camera...and I've spent $165 AUD on a card that was a waste of money!

Are you sure it's a legit card, and not a cheap Chinese knockoff? Can you post a pic of the card itself? Maybe someone else can verify.

Sandisk (genuine) are the gold standard, IMO.

Am certain it is a legit card...was purchased in Australia from Scorptec who sell legit products...

This is the company and the same card shown here...

Interestingly it says 'lifetime warranty'....but in this case the problem is in my 60D....works fine in a computer...hence the reason I am sure Sandisk and Scorptec will be keen to say problem is with the camera...

next thing might be to find someone with a 60D....am attending a Philip Bloom workshop this weekend...someone there might be able to try it out for me in their cam...

When a card is corrupt it will not work in a computer. Scan Disk is right. I should know, I've had an audio card go corrupt on my Zoom. Popped it into the computer and didn't work there either. It wanted to be reformatted as soon as my Mac recognized it. If yours in not doing this when plugging into the computer then you might be right, it might be an issue with the 60DAre you sure it was corrupt in the first place?

I'm with you on that. I've never had a problem. I have with other brands but not with SanDisk. I was suspecting a knock off too.

The only for sure way to test what the problem is, is to.

1) buy another 32 gig and put it in the 60d. Reformat it and try it out for a while. If it works then the problem is the other card.
2) put the 32 gig card in another 60d. (as you have suggested)
3) reformat every card you have (16's 32's) then try them all again. Chances are if something is wrong with your 60d then something might go wrong with the 16 gig cards too.

You said the 16 gigs work fine. By any chance did you buy those from a different dealer?
