Here's the situation:
2 Canon batteries (for the 7D of course. One is from the actual body box and the other was purchased at the same time, Oct. '09)
1 Canon 7D body (not abused, my personal camera, worked perfectly a week ago)
Placed one of the batts in my camera this morning and flipped it on and... nothing. Nada, zip. I know the battery is changed based on the charger light and the fact that I changed it overnight.
The other battery gets the camera to boot and give me an error screen saying this is not a Canon battery, would you like to use it anyway? I say "yes" and the camera works normally except for the lack of battery charge feedback.
Camera was running 1.0.9 when this started (never updated it), so I ran the update to 1.2.5 and also have done a hard reset. Nothing helps. I used it last Sunday and since then it has sat on my desk.
Haven't been able to try other batteries or other bodies yet. And I have already contacted Canon and of couse they need me to send it in to take a look at it.
Has anyone else had this problem? And what was Canon's solution?
