Anyone had their 7D suddenly not accept Canon batteries?

Here's the situation:

2 Canon batteries (for the 7D of course. One is from the actual body box and the other was purchased at the same time, Oct. '09)

1 Canon 7D body (not abused, my personal camera, worked perfectly a week ago)

Placed one of the batts in my camera this morning and flipped it on and... nothing. Nada, zip. I know the battery is changed based on the charger light and the fact that I changed it overnight.

The other battery gets the camera to boot and give me an error screen saying this is not a Canon battery, would you like to use it anyway? I say "yes" and the camera works normally except for the lack of battery charge feedback.

Camera was running 1.0.9 when this started (never updated it), so I ran the update to 1.2.5 and also have done a hard reset. Nothing helps. I used it last Sunday and since then it has sat on my desk.

Haven't been able to try other batteries or other bodies yet. And I have already contacted Canon and of couse they need me to send it in to take a look at it.

Has anyone else had this problem? And what was Canon's solution?

i had that happen, sent it back to canon as it was still under warranty. i'm not sure what they did but they had it back to me pretty quick like and it was fixed.

I've never had a camera stop accepting Canon batteries, but my wife has.

See, the battery life in video mode is so short with these things that I order an extra one every week or so to accumulate a stockpile. My wife is so sick of the constant parcels she has stopped accepting delivery of them. :)

As for cleaning the contacts a pencil eraser can do the trick, but how you'd get at those little recessed contacts I don't know.
