no such thing IMO - had mine since day one,I am planning to buy one for my family. But my concern is the news about the overheat.
Any users can clear out my concern?
Well, a Google search for "iPad overheat" reveals multiple sources of people talking about iPads overheating in direct sunlight: http://www.google.com/search?q=ipad...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-aiPad overheating?
Given the fact that it doesn't use hard drives, that sounds pretty unlikely.
Can you point to some news indicating this?

I don't know if it is a widespread problem, but some people are complaining about it.
Yes. Thank you...I think the problem is that having absorbed a bit of heat from sunlight, the unit overheats and shuts down.
One ought to be able to use a 'go anywhere' device without having to worry too much about being out in the sun...
Yes. Thank you.
I would have thought that would have been obvious, considering how when we normally talk about technology overheating, it typically means it becoming too hot to continue functioning normally.
Specifically, some people are complaining about iPad displaying a black screen with the message "iPad needs to cool down before you can use it" after being out in the sun for a short while.
I was surprised by the speed of the iPad, it is also VERY fast for web suffing, faster than my home quad core PC running internet explorer.
Safari was always faster than internet explorer in my experience...
