Anyone Edit Final Cut, Convert on PC CCE Cinemacraft?

Anyone using cinemacraft to encode dvd, but editing with final cut?
Can you suggest a workflow for best results..

Currently I am shooting in 720P HD, and then need to covert to SD for DVD.

My results using compressor have been less than stunning. The DVCPRO50 SD files look great though. I can't get CCE is process quicktime files.. I think for lack of my QuickTime DVCPRO50 support on my windows machine, which I cannot figure out. DVCPRO50 avi's play fine.

Thanks.

This would be interesting.

Let me know if you succeed.

BTW, BitVice 1.7 produces some nice SD encoding from a 720/24pn source

My problem with bitvice is that I've heard it's slow, and it's not universal yet, so I'd guess it's unbelievalbly slow on my macbook pro.. CCE on the other hand is FAST! I'm newly back into video, but when I used it a few years back it was blazing fast, and great result... I can't deal with 10x realtime encodes that compressor does, when CCE gives me about 1x realtime..

Currently I've been able to export as an DVCPRO50 AVI, reboot into windows on the macbook, and then encode via CCE (mainconcept DVCPRO50 codec installed) I haven't really examined the results too closely but on a quick test they look decent, and the process is relatively fast..

I was going to do EXACTLY this. I assumed, although you might have information to the contrary, that you could just hook up your HDD to the PC, with your exported QT .mov on it, drop the QT .mov into Cinemacraft, and let it encode, then take that encoded file, put it on your HDD, go back to the Mac, and import the asset into DVD STUDIO PRO. I would LOVE TO KNOW how this looks/works, in comparison to something you have encoded in Compressor. If there are ostensible fidelity improvements, I will definitely attempt to do this myself...

Please keep me posted!
