Any Second-Hand HPX500's going up?

fyi, there's a $2000 rebate until the end of June, bringing the price down around 8500 new
 
Oh, yeah I know. But wouldn't mind a second-hand one for even less than that. :B You know how it is.
 
I don't know about the HPX rebate, but it took nearly 4 months to receive my Panasonic monitor rebate. Also, go thru your junk mail carefullly (ugh) as my rebate check almost got shredded for looking like junk.

I personally think that these rebates should be taken on the dealers end and given to us right off the top.

That or just lower the price all together and skip the rebates!
 
Rebates may have something to so with collecting interest, so the company offering the rebate can save you some dough without losing so much themselves.

Just speculation.
 
Or fill it out wrong...so they can't get the money back. Or lose the required information. Or it got lost in the mail.

So many ways a rebate can get messed up. And if it does, sucks to be you...the company doesn't have to pay you anything.

FWIW, the whole rebate process is something that the Feds should get involved with.

Panasonic did the right thing when it boxed 16Gb cards with the HVX200 recently.

Every Sunday, Stapes or Office Depot, or somebody else is selling 15-inch laptops for 19 cents.

However the in store price is $1 billion.

There are seventy different rebates to send in to get to 19 cents

It ain't right
