While changing record quality on my GH5 i inadvertently set it to 4K 400m ALL-1 25P 10bit,i thought i had captured some great footage but the files play with a stutter in the camera and my now even more upgraded PC wont play them at all, neither will my software,is there a way to convert them to a usable 4K or even HD format. Thanks

It depends, can you dropbox an example so we can see what is going on?

What card did you have in the cameras as 400Mbps All i requires a very fast card. If you used a slower card it may not have recorded correctly. I think V60 or V90 is recommended.

What editing software do you have and what are your PC specs? Any good NLE like Resolve or Premier will let you generate proxy files for playback. Transcoding is another option but you will be throwing away data by doing this. I find that VLC will play this codec OK on a fastish machine but for Resolve or Premier ( particularly Premier) you need a top spec workstation to play back this codec without it dropping frames.

That's true but if the card isn't fast enough the camera will simply stop recording rather than record with dropped frames.

Thanks a lot for your help guys,my son who is more pc minded than me has got the files to play on my pc but as yet not on my Cybrlink software,at first i was using a Sndisk128GB 95MB/S 3 card and the camera did stop a few times but i thought it was because the card was nearly full so i changed to the other card in the camera a Sandisc Extreme pro 280mb/s 3 card, the recording never stopped then, hopefuly i wont make the same mistake again and use 10bit.
