Another FCP Export Question...

Did a search & didn't find the answer.

Have a 5 minute video done in FCP 5.1. DVCPRO HD 730p60, 23.98fps. What is the best format to get this off the system in? This project will be submitted to a couple festivals, but I can't get it off in the way I normally do.

I have a Sony DVCAM DSR-11. Yes, it is SD. I used to send all my stuff to this drive, but on this project (my first with the HVX) it won't record the video -- just the audio. I get a nice black screen.

Questions are two:
1. Best way/format to get an HD project off for submissions - in the highest quality?
2. How can I redord my timeline to the DSR-11?

I know the process of creating a .mov file / compressor / DVDSP for DVD's... what if I wanted it on tape still?

THANKS!!!

your problem is you have HD footage, and your trying to stream over firewire to a DVCAM SD deck. Thats why you have no picture.

SOME of your options:
import timeline into 23.98 SD sequence, render, output SD into DVCAM.
export downconverted QT, then load into 23.98 SD timeline and do the same again.
output into compressor and encode mpeg 2 for encoding to SD DVD.

Thanks, but I know how to print to video -- that is the problem. It won't. esperman -- thanks for the info... I was hoping to go direct from the current timeline, and that sucks that I can't. Thanks!
