anamorphic adapter or filter or lens for the GH-1?

Hi all,

I'm looking to film with horizontal lens flares. Does anyone know a way of achieving this with the GH-1? Are there any anamorphic adapters or horizontal lens flare filters or anamorphic lenses out there that will do the trick?

Thanks,

Matt

There seams to be many problems with the AG LA7200. At least with the DVX-100 lens. Better look into this before plunging the dough. Iscorama is the better choice.

Which Iscorama do I get? Is there a model name or number? Is this the right thing:

"ISCO Anamorphic 16:9 Video Attachment 1

ISCO Anamorphic 16:9 Video Attachment 1 used to convert 4:3 projector to 16:9 image

Is approx 7-8 years old. Has no marks or scratches. In perfect condition."

It says it's for a projector though- is that the wrong thing for the GH-1?

Cheers

okay, I've seen now there are loads of models and versions of the iscorama anamorphic adapter.. bit confusing!

What is the difference between 'iscorama 36' and 'iscorama 42'?

Do u know which might be the version to get? most them say they are either a "projector lens" or "cinemascope".. presumably they are the wrong ones..

help! :)

... and "Pair of Isco Anamorphic Attachments for 35mm Projector"

can't seem to find any threads on dvxuser on which is the correct one to get for the GH-1.. can anyone advise?

Cheers!

like this?

gh1 w/ lomo anamorphic primes w/ hot rod camera's pl mount.

Really? What I've seen from the la7200 on the 5D looks pretty good!
Iscorama = realy beautiful, but hard to find.

The lens is not bad at all; much better then the Century optics piece.

I did tests with it awhile ago; I'm planning on hooking it up to my GH1 and running tests as well.

I've got the AG-LA7200G as well - no issues using it on various manual focus lenses on the GH1 - you lose close focusing capabililty and it doesn't seem to like apertures much wider than f/2 or f/2.8 on anything but very wide lenses, but the adapter itself is very nice. I may get flamed for this, but may I ask if I'm the only person who didn't get an anamorphic adapter just to get flares? I don't find flares to be particularly compelling.

Nah man, you have a right to an opinion. I for one share the same opinion. I think it's nice to get the wide look with that aspect ratio without cropping in post personally.

I'm confused, I've never used one of these, but from what i understand the lens squishes the image into your camera, and you view it with a wider than capture pixel ratio?

If someone could explain how it works or could work on a GH1 I'd love to try, but all i've seen online are photos of the setup and not much explanation. Scuse me I'm still new to all of this.
