FEATURE: an indy feature of mine up on amazon - if ya like gritty nyc cop films...

Definitely check this one out. Id describe it as if Bukowski stuck his member in Louis c. K. S ear while punching neil labute in the throat.

This sounds intriguing. I looked at the reviews on Amazon, and I suspect Kevin Baggott wrote some of them - not the positive ones, but the negative ones. Because it is the negative ones that would encourage me to watch it... f.ex. one of them is "too depressing" - intriguing! Another: "I don't know what it's about" - so, it means it's not hamfisted and obvious? Bring it on!

In fact, the negative ones are so encouraging that I cannot help but think Kevin wrote them, to rope in folks like me. I'm sorely tempted to give this one a try, time permitting.

lambert - thanks for giving the film a watch. Sounds like ya liked it :) I know it's a bit dark the film - a homicide detective with 20 years on the streets of nyc - what can one expect?

Lambert - i also have two other indy features up on amazon that ya might like?
one is called, Beneath Disheveled Stars - that I also wrote/directed and played the lead in. About a nyc superintendent carrying out his mother's last dying wish.
and the other film is called, Mad Full of Dreams - that I also wrote/directed and played the lead in. About a Private Security guy given the detail to accommodate an elderly Korean man to Vienna - who goes missing.
Dreams was shot with the black magic cinema camera the Stars with the panny gh2.

Definitely liked it and will check out the others in the near future. It's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea for sure but I like the shaggy dog bare bones kind of films that give a nice respite to the highly produced over calculated oscar bait films that swamp the art house circuit declaring themselves 20 million dollar indies. I don't know Kevin but viewing a solid no thrills production must be more useful to would be filmmakers than another blockbuster that is going to be far and away from most filmmakers reality. At least one your films sounded like it may have been close to a one man band crew. We've had discussions on omb feature films and I'd be interested in your thoughts on the subject whether here or in another thread. Keep up the interesting work.

yeah - omb films - i've done four indy features over the years. Well 5 - the first one I thrashed when i saw the footage. 2 of them i had a bare crew - meaning a dp/assistant and sound person - and maybe a PA. The other 2 features i was writing, directing, playing the lead, shooting and most of the times setting up a mic. Not the way to make a film - but its either that or hang out in cafes and talk about Tarkovsky. Anyway - making omb films - I guess if i had a choice I'd do something else with my life. Yeah as Cassavettes once said "Come Monday we start making this movie whether there's film in the camera or not."
