Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

Hey if you guys (Barry and Jarred) can finish this up and have it ready for us by Saturday, each member here will donate $2 to your pay pal account! (ok now i'm a dead man). :-X

On a serious note: I know this is very time consuming so if you guys aren't planning to turn it into a book and would like to set up a donations page, i will gladly donate some funds! I'm sure a few of us here will agree with me on this.

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

yup, almost enough to buy yourself a mini35! haha. Seriously, i know what you're doing takes time so if we can somehow drink 1 less cappachino (check spelling) tomorrow and donate that to you guys to help out is ok with me. Set it up and I'll be the first to donate then they will come! ;D

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

For this and many other services provided by these very generous gentlemen I'll definitely donate!

:D

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

Jarred/Barry, this site is really sweet !! Many heartfelt thanks for all you guys do. I am also glad to pay a small fee ...

Peace :D

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

this site - cool
this thread - sucks

There have been two worthwile posts.  The side by side comparison and Barry saying he's doing another comparison.  Maybe someone could pull those two posts out and kill this thread before it wastes too many peoples time!

Ah... I feel better now.

Too late man.  Had to read it to find out.  Just trying to help everyone else out.

Dance on...

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

Jpgentry, The fact that you did not include my posts into the category of worthwhile is about as sick as the dancing blonde afro in strancali's window. My posts are amazingly informative and worthwhile to all.

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

Hey can we all just get along? :D I'll try to get some new dance moves to entertain you guys ok? Yeah I've been waiting for this for so long and i don't know how it the thread change direction but hey what can you do?

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

I would just like to point out that over the last several months I have gotten to know quite a few guys (and girls) who share the same passion as I do: Film, and the like. You guys all rock and this site kicks all the other site's asses, so I do not see anything wrong with shooting the breeze with my friends, colleagues, and fellow film aficionados. And what's the big deal if we do it right in the midst of this very comparison thread??? Maybe we exausted ourselves by discussing manual servos and true 16x9, and we just needed a break. If someone wants to talk about it, they'll say something important and then we'll have something to talk about, won't we... Just because I love my DVX, doesn't mean I sleep with it under my pillow. I know that there is an "off-topic" category in this forum but I see no point in moving my conversation just so I can crack a joke... Hey jp, no offense, but grow up a little, and just try to enjoy the company of friends. I seriously agree with Strancali on this one, and I think that it's our ability to communicate and network that sets this (community) apart from others.

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

Would it be much harder to film an "inside a car" scene with an (out of the box) XL2 than with a DVX?

The XL2's body is a bit chunkier so that'd be a factor but what's the deal with the XL2 not being as wide for close shots?

cheers
Pete

PS I've followed this thread from the start and um, please Mr Land, *starsky and hutch* do it

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

strancali,
Obviously I think your avatar is hilarious. Don't change it. No matter what occurs, I will find you!

Dude

I'm not trying to bash anyone in particular and I can tell you guys have developed a very close relationship, especially you and strancali, but everyone who wants to fully know what's up with this thread and with the comparison will need to read through the 28 pages to find out.

I'm not trying to crush the thread or you or your feelings but as you pointed out if you guys want to shoot the breeze how about putting it "off topic" and then we can just read about the subject material.

Seriously... not trying to be rude but I spent a heck of alot of time reading this thread and just felt totally like a looser... (go ahead say it "you are a looser.")

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

I have to admit, I've been following this thread, too, and it isn't very productive...even if I have been entertained.

I feel for the people who find the thread title exciting, and then read 24 pages with nothing to show for it. I and many of us have been there! It is a frustrating experience. This is a valuable site, and it's value diminishes when we waste people's time.

I'm as guilty as others of going off topic once in a while, and I can't get irritated with people who try to keep the threads focused, particularly when they get this long. They appear really valuable and they contain less information than promised! People have families, jobs, etc... Be easy on them.

My 2 cents.

What a loser!

haha just kidding man. Just relax a little. Having sense of humor is a good thing. It'll reduce stress if you laugh your ass off at least once a day. Yes dv-davie and i get along really well just like everyone here. Soon you'll be laughing along with us and we become one big happy family. Damn after reading all those post about the FX1/DVX/Xl2 comparison really gave me a big headache, i'm gonna go take a nap now. ;D

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

lol, strancali I thought YOU were the guy in your avatar but I just saw Napolean Dynamite, great movie, great man.

Re: almost there.. xl2 vs DVX side by side

Barry and Jarred. MANY THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!! It is greatly appreciated !!!

Having said that, I most definitely agree that this thread has lost it's original relativity :-/.

Barry/Jarred is it possible to post a separate thread within the XL2 discussion group which provides much of the same information you have provided to the FX1 discussion? Perhaps this would allow for a more detailed discussion/comparison of the XL2 vs the DVX.

Personally, I don't really care for the FX1 and I would like to see more of the analysis comparison split between DVX and XL2.

Many, Many, Many ... Many, Many, Thanks ;D
