The Kona card has nothing to do with acquisition unless for some reason you are playing from the camera through component outputs and then converting to SDI to acquire through the card. Your P2 acquisition is either via firewire or from hard drive if you have copied the MXF material to drive. Where your Kona card comes into play is if you monitor or export through the card.
Thanks, Im planning to use it for output to a ref monitor and for some exportations. I was afraid that the AJA card wouldnt read the mxf and that i had to capture from camera to get a format the card could "work with" to output to a ref monitor. But If I understand you right it should work with mxf then. Cool
FCP only support DVCPRO HD MXF by rewrapping it into a quicktime file. You still have to do this with the KONA.
DVCPRO HD accleration means that when playing back in the edited DVCPRO HD timeline, the KONA card can offload some of the decompression and scaling effort from the CPU.
