No camera for grown ups will ever use off-the-shelf SSDs. SATA ports are the flimsiest thing ever invented by anyone ever. Makes mini HDMI look like lemo. You'd get to use each SSD you bought about three times.
That is complete BS. We have been using the same two REDMAG SSDs (which use a SATA connector) since the Epic came out (which is such a childish camera, right?), and have had no problems, and use those mags often between out Epic and Scarlet, with no problems. I have used the same two SSDs for my samurai for a feature shoot, a short, and several freelance projects over the past two months, again, no problems with daily use for two months. I have re-used each of those off the shelf samurai SSDs about 40 times in the past two months. I also have a stack of regular HDs that I use with a SATA reader that I have been using for years, again, no problems. I don't know how you are pluggin in your SSDs, but if they are only lasting three uses, the problem is you and not the SSDs.
