AF100 LCD screen

I checked my LCD screen and it's pretty much spot on. No green bias just a tiny bit warm. I do think my Marshall looks cooler in temperature when having it in neutral but both tungsten and daylight looked great.

are you checking it under tungsten lighting with the 3200 preset? Because we tried two cameras and both gave us a slight green tinge.. The marshall is a bit more on the magenta side but that's the calibrated monitor and both af100's exhibited the same greenish color on the lcd.

Have you shooted using the 3.2k preset? My 5.6k preset is OK, but 3.2k preset is greenish. It is more evident shooting wood that normally has a pink-orange casting

I just tried it in under tungsten light (halogen) and it looks just as before. A little bit warm in 3.2k preset but no green bias. LCD and viewfinder looked the same.

I got my AF100 yesterday, and I'm with Papa; the LCD has noticeable green cast. The EVF looks correct, in comparison. Definitely a bit troubling, but I think my clips are okay. Going to do some more testing...

Then we just have different eyes, because there is a difference. Even if it's slight.

Even the GH1 and GH2 allow you to adjust the color balance of the LCD (Setup menu, Tool icon, Montior, press Display button). How could the AF100 not allow this to be done? That is ridiculous. Panasonic needs to fix this so that we can properly light and set up our shots.

Those are my sentiments exactly. I just didn't want to come off sounding too harsh. Lol

I feel like panasonic will have to release a firmware update to give us this accessibility.

I guess we will have to wait for this camera to get into more people's hands before we see the general consensus. Not that I wish for everyone to suffer having an lcd with a green bias, but if many people show interest in finding a solution, perhaps panasonic will do something about adding color balance to the next firmware. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

But yah, pretty surprised it doesn't come with those features.

Damn. The green bias on the image PaPa uploaded makes me wonder if his AF100 has come from The Matrix.

I feel like, although my marshall wascalibrated, im going to give it one more go before giving up. Calibrate teh marshall like a mofo, and then see again what the difference is. Either way, the green will still be a little present, it's just a question of how much. Because there is a difference between the EVF and the LCD. So that's no question.

you know whats funny? I had the same problem w the HPX300.. it has a blueish tint and I compared it to the EVF and the EVF showed the actual color i was capturing.. I woinder if it is the same situation..

Try this, if the option is there, have both EVF and LCD on and compare the two.. most likely the EVF looks like what you see in the marshall.

Let me add my 2 cents here as well. Received my unit today and it was the first thing I noticed, the LCD is biased towards green- quite a bit. The EVF is fine. There are a few instances in the manual where it states not expect the EVF and the LCD to match.
At least they warned us

There should still be an adjustment for the color balance of the LCD. If a $1000 DSLR from the same manufacturer has it (I don't care if they're like 2 separate companies, they both say Panasonic on them) then the $5000 camera that's supposed to be PROFESSIONAL should have it.

I agree. I hate to sound picky, but if the LCD is messed up, it will cause me problems as I often times need to be able to shoot run and gun with the LCD or viewfinder as my only monitoring source.

Yeah, it sure does have a green cast, most noticeable on 3200 white. It's more than slight. Really sloppy on Panny's part in my opinion. Would be nice if we could at least calibrate on the user side.

what happens if you switch to PAL? Just wondering why the only user who says he doesnt have the green screen, is coming from a PAL country....or maybe there is another difference between af100 and af101?

nothing changed.

Yeah, just did another monitor calibration on my marshall. 10 minutes wasted, still the same lol. But now its 300% calibrated!

So Jan, what are the steps we need to take to get panasonic to give us color adjustment on the lcd?
