Advice: replaced on-board mic cover

So, a while back I bent and scratched the mesh grill for the on-board microphone on my A1. No big deal, really, though I was surprised how easily it bent. I simply had my gear bag too full and a plastic filter box or tape box pressed into it too hard. Anyhow, I'll probably replace it some time because I'm neurotic and it's only a $25 part.

The problem is that the screw is on the underside of the mic cover and uses a tiny (like a size 0) mini-philips head. Without taking the handle apart from the body (and removing wires, etc.) it seems I would need a tiny screwdriver bent at a 90 degree angle like an allen wrench to be able to reach the screw. Does something like that exist? Has anyone else had to remove/replace the mic cover? If so, maybe I'm boneheadedly overlooking an easier method. Any advice appreciated.

size 0 phillips' exist, and in conjunction with a vice and a pair of vice grips (or channel-locks) you can bend it 90 degrees. the most useful and bendable size 0's are the Husky brand mini phillips with the blue handle at home depot...it comes in a 2 pack with the mini flathead with the red handle...also useful. best of luck!

That exactly what I assumed I'd have to do, skinnyl; improvise my own tool. I was hoping someone would tell me I was crazy and had overlooked a simpler method. I have NO IDEA why the Canon engineers would place the screw here, in the most inconvenient and illogical place possible. Thanks for the replies, though!

My mics "nose" came slightly off last week well I was climbing a jungle mountain with camera on tri-pod trying to get a overhead of a steam train going through a gourge... missed the train, knocked the cam and the plants cut me up..whew.. Lesson - always put cam in bag!
Cant seem to get it back in properly as its held together with a piece of rubber and kinda goes in place then works its way loose and gives the cam a soggy look! Anyone got a fix for this scenario? Thanks

I had the same problem and glued it with two tiny drops of (how do you call that in english...) 3 second glue (?).
