Gotcha. Hope you at least feel tragically amused by your own situation as well. :)

Hey Kohli, I hope you'll be putting it through its paces as soon as you get yours and starting a thread about it.

I would love to read about your take on the codec, how to handle it, in-camera settings, details about the noise at different ISOs, so on, so forth.

you got it dude. Glad to see you took the plunge as well. You won't regret it. Headed to location now for a shoot with 5D and 7D.

So far though:

7D Looks cleaner to my eyes.

Mkii is a stop faster at least

24p cadence is nice. Dunno if it's my eyes but may be just a hair off.

Dynamic range is too close to mkii if not the same.

Aliasing is improved but not gone. Improved is good.

Body doesn't get as hot as fast as mkii.

Battery life looks a little better? How can that be?

Same batteris as mkii? Nice

new buttons make the video more intuitive.

Great new options for those who shoot stills mote seriously. Quick switch for raw and jpg? Go canon.

All in all it's the mkii with an updated compression scheme which shows immediately in heavy grades in After Effects.

But more processing power in 7D right? Confuses me. But I'll take it either way.

I'm not sure how they are doing it...but running things through two processors could actually lower power consumption and heat. Depends on all that super secret "Canon-engineers don't even know" stuff :)

Like you said, either way I'm very happy. Thanks for the report!
