C200: Adobe now supports Canon Cinema RAW Light format

That's the mentality of village butcher.

I'm sorry, but this comment irked me enough to post.

Antagonizing BMD like this is completely unmerited. I should also say that I am not an owner of any Blackmagic product (and I use FCPX as my NLE), but as someone that has and continues to work in the technology world there is a common expression used when developing products/solutions; "build or buy". It is an extremely normal practice for software organizations to purchase and integrate IP from smaller companies. Just take a look at Google's portfolio. Or Facebook. Microsoft. Apple. Probably even Adobe... it happens. All. The. Time. In fact, a lot of smaller software companies may even HOPE that it will happen to them.

So what if BMD has purchased software suites from other companies and rebranded? You even say in your own post that these "victimized" companies were not in a competitive position. The alternative to your Village Butcher is that those companies vanish and their clever solutions become unsupported and unusable. Then nobody can make use of them.

BMD has done an incredible job of listening to what the filmmaking community is asking for and they've consistently tried to shake things up with their products. It's silly to antagonize any of these companies (BMD, RED, etc)... the amazing cameras and software products you have the choice of today are very much due to the competitive pressure they've applied to the established giants.

Also... I'll just leave this right here:

Now let's get back on topic...
