Adobe CS 3 Leaks

Seems that all of the rumor sites and even some legit sites have pointed to Amazon.com's early release of pricing and packaging specs for the numerous Vista-like combinations of CS3. One little interesting note is that the "Production Premium" bundle incldes Adobe OnLocation and Adobe Ultra. These are the rebranded DVRack Pro and Ultra products respectively. The Amazon listing only had complete specs for Windows version but noted that Onlocation and Ultra require Bootcamp+Windows to run on Intel Mac. This would imply that while they would definitely be bundled in the PC version, they might also be bundled in the Mac version.

Preliminary description also noted that Adobe Encore would burn BluRay DVD.

Of course, we will know all of the details Tuesday 3/27 when Adobe makes the formal announcement.

It now seems from the release info that OnLocation and Ultra are only bundled in the Windows version.

One unanswered question so far is MXF support in the new PPro.

I still have never been a Premiere fan, but I am very excited over PS Extended.

oh well. NAB here we come.

Anyone able to confirm whether Adobe OnLocation will support HVX direct capture? The site says "DV and HDV"... no mention of DVCProHD.

Yeah I hope it does support it cause there is nothing that says it yet. Also I would hope they would support MXF in Premiere now that they own DVRack. I have been waiting for this and have been using Cineform till Adobe came out with support for it. Lets all pray for it.

I trust it does not include the existing activation method? Also, is there a future means for us existing DV Rack users to get away from a software activation method that has, imo, been very frustrating? Time will tell.

The other thing that isn't obvious to me is whether there is full support for MXF within Premiere Pro or only within OnLocation.

It would be nice if Premiere Pro CS 3 or whatever it's called actually natively supports DVCProHD without an intermediate tool such as Raylight.

Adobe now owns the DVCProHD Decoder and Batch Converter that re-wraps MXF files into AVIs, and that is probably how they initially will support DVCProHD.

Can any of you PS folks explain what the "Enhanced vanishing point with 3d support" is all about? I remember vanishing points, but how is it incorporated into the program?

I can't explain it clearly, but if you go to their site they have a "feature tour" of PS that covers it. Try that.
