Adapter for Nikon G lenses

I have a Nikon G lens that I'd like to use with a Canon 7D. Because "G" lenses do not have manual aperture control, one needs a special adapter that adds this functionality.

I know the V3 adapter does this (http://www.16-9.net/nikon_g/), but it's not cheap. I wonder if there's a third party variant. Otherwise, has anyone had experience with this G lens adapter or any other? How do they perform?

Okay, let me rephrase this:
Has anyone ever used a Nikon G lens with a 7D, 5D, or T2i? If so, what was your experience?

Yes. I use my 14-24 and my 24-70 with V.2 of the 16:9 adapter with my 5D2. As you may know, those lenses are big and heavy. There is a slight (and I mean very slight) amount of play or movement with those lenses, but they work quite well, once you get used to estimating the actual f-stops between the dots on the adapter (the first dot is wide open, the second is f8 and the third is fully closed). I also use a 80-200 zoom with a Cameraquest adapter, and there is absolutely no play or movement.

The bottom line is: if you want to use a G lens, 16:9 is the only game in town. I have gone ahead and ordered the new Novoflex sourced (V.3) adapter, so I'll let you know if it is any better once I get it.

Forget to mention: You do know that you have to remove the rubber o-ring/gasket from the lens to mount the lens on the adapter?
