A7s sample footage

Very nice Brandon. I think it's exelent colors, the image really pops.

Last week I made a film for the 48hour.
Nominated for best cinematography.
Shot in SLOG.

Some of the better a7s slog footage I've seen.
Did you shoot slog/sgamut? Any noise reduction?

Cheers,

I really like the hallway shots and the opening. Skin tones still seem to have some of that pesky s-log yellow. I don't understand why you flipped the shot at 3:37?

The image is flipped there because it's shot in a mirror. Might been better to feel her shoulder there in the shot to show it's a mirror. Maybe should have flipped it :)
The look isn't the best for skin color acuracy, but it's graded on purpose that way, it must be a little dirty for the ambience.

The picture profile is PP7/Slog with the saturation turned up. And in CC turned down again. No noise reduction but exposed to the right.

Last month I filmed a short film out in Montreal

All filmed in Slog (kholi's pp) minus couple intro shots and outro shots using PP5. Black and white colour!

A little action scene in lowlight with the a7s:

One thing I'm struggling with is the size of this thing. I think it's too damn small!

Holy lack of rolling shutter, Batman! How'd you manage that? Fixed in post?

Some shots are warp stabilized, but I mostly shot in fullframe mode as the lighting was so low.

It's mostly about getting rid of the microjitters (use stabilized lenses etc) that help a lot. And keeping the shutter at 1/50 helps hide the twisting stuff.

Very nice indeed.
Surprisingly little jello given it was shot at FF mode, definitely some good work cleaning that in post. Though yes, putting on weight to avoid micro-jitters while shooting goes a long way...

Personally, I have never discarded a shot because of RS, but I've discarded many because of too-much-motion. Though I don't move the camera around like that (I don't know how to do it and get good results - yet).
