A7s sample footage

With original Sony e-mount lenses?

Native sony mount should work great in af. I had an fs700 and a sony/zeiss 16-35mm once the af was amazingly fast. With it's "Phase Detection" (found on Alpha lenses) it was able to track the subject on point. There was a video showing this, let me see if i can find it.

Not this video but it explains it well

Still, super35 vs FF sensor - I'm not sure there's ever been a FF sensor that did very good continuous AF in video whist rolling. So far I've heard it's "pretty good" but not "great!" Be nice to see a good test.

A7s K-Log +4 Sat, +1 ETTR (or a bit lower) custom s-curve no LUTs or other adjustments.

I have yet together a satisfactory longer shot in AF mode without unwanted refocusing. I was suing a 24-70.

I thought i'd have a go with coloring with the A7s clip found here.
The first is the source file uncolored, followed with 4 colored versions.

If these images spark any interest, i will share the quick coloring process of each frame.
In terms of quick color, I see great potential as this was graded as XAVCS within Resolve. I have yet to test with isolation and further push with a better codec.

I agree with the 3rd pic standing out. I'm still seeing a fair amount of green highlighting in her hair and parts of her skin in which it seems no one has completely removed. I haven't came across it in my shooting since switching to kolis profile but this seems to be an issue.

Thank you guys for the feedback. I have good faith in this camera. I have wrestled with footage from different cameras and the a7s doesn't worry me. A color treatment for a version like the above would only take 1 minute.

I believe that green highlight is coming from the lighting on location as you can see the spill on the background as well as the macbook on the table.
I'm sure on a serious note, as DOPs, we'd make sure that's resolved before Resolve. And if we were to 'fix it in post', it'll introduce more steps. The idea here was to see what results are we looking at if we were to grade quickly.

I'll be happy to share the coloring steps soon, it's late here almost 3am in the morning! I'm excited to pick up my a7s later in the morning!

Thanks for the link! Here's a few quick grades I did trying to really stress the 8-bit S-LOG2 and see how far it can be pushed:
