Just saw this. I am not associated with the reseller nor do I know anything about them. So you would need to do your homework. They seem ligit.

But it says a free firestore fs c with your A1 purchase. Seems like a great deal to me if they are authorised.

At Broadcast India in Mumbai I talked at some length with the Focus Enhancements sales manager for southeast Asia, I was trying to get to the bottom of this because I know Coffee and others have struggled with sorting out the FS & Canon issues.

I was told that the FS-C is the only firestore that works with the Canon 24F/25F/30F modes. Other firestores can record 1080i or 720p HDV, but only the FS-C can handle the 24F/25F/30F modes. The FS-4 doesn't work with those modes, and the FS-4 is sold by regular Firestore dealers.

I was further told that only Canon (or Canon dealers) sell the FS-C.

So that's what I was told; just repeating it. Perhaps the info was valid only for SE Asia (as far as sales outlets)?
 
I have read that as well Barry, however, I have the FS-4 HD. The only filetype available for HD from that is m2t and it works for all the canon modes. I have not done extensive testing thru pulldown, but Sony Vegas recognizes 24f, 30f, and 60i.

The FS-C offers the less compressed quicktime codec. So far the m2t looks fantastic to me. However I cannot compare the two side by side.
 
I use the FS-C with the XH A1 and results and operation are fantastic. Before buying it I spoke with the folks at B&H, Focus Enhancements, and the Video Guys as to which one to buy and from all my research I went with the FS-C. I am glad that I did, although I would have saved a few $$$ with the FS-4.

BTW-It looks like that special is for the XL-H! and not the XH A1

you got me so excited. I even thought it was the a1 when i looked at it too, poor site design. Oh well, one day.
