Hi guys!

We're finally releasing our feature film four years in the making. 21st September is the premiere and we just released a trailer.

Shot with Sony FS700 + Odyssey 7Q+. Thanks for all the help I've got on this forum and especially Convergent Design and Mitch for making a product that made our footage look like a real movie. :)

"Festivals abroad" may definitely pick it up. It'll be slightly harder for distributors abroad. In general, comedy doesn't translate as well internationally - what distributors like best for international releases are action, horror, crime etc. Of course, exceptions exist, and you may have one!

Humor is very, very hard. What's funny to one person, may not be to another. Humor that depends on cultural references and wordplay may work in one market but not in another. Or simply the sense of humor may be different in different countries. Whenever people ask me about genres, I usually discourage them from humor if they have international distribution ambitions. Action has no such issues. But again, exceptions exist, and I wish you the best!

Watched the trailer again. For some reason, perhaps the grade and the camera pans (amongst other things), it has a kinda vintage feel to me. Could've told me it was shot on film and I'd have believed it. Of course, I'm watching it on my phone, so...

I think it can have legs in a more art crowd. Of course, I'm only judging from the trailer. It has a charming quality, a la Amelie. Although I don't mean to limit its appeal. And while I cannot speak for anyone else, I'd definitely see it if I had the chance.

From a cinematography perspective, I have not yet been able to get as much out of my FS700 as you have gotten. I'm not sure if it's just the Nordic light quality or your lighting ability (probably both) but I'm very impressed with your images. Also, the gag with the legs tip-toeing on the surface of the water?!?! Very fun!

The grade itself is super simple, Alexa Lut from Premiere and some curves, not much more. I really think the look is pretty good straight out the box and as long as you don't mess up the white balance or exposure too much the Odyssey Prores footage is very close to being as gradable as raw in my opinion.

There's a blog post I made last year when we were still in production. It tells a bit more about the gear we used etc.
