this is a little montage from my friend's wedding. all the montage footage is from my 7d, although I used an xha1 and an hv20 as well during the ceremony and reception. no color grading or correction--all straight from the camera. all this footage is 60p slowed down as well, but I was editing in a 24 frame timeline, and I think that gave it a lot of motion blur.

lenses used were tokina 11-16, canon 50 1.8, and canon 28-135. several shots i used my steadicam merlin too. i still can't get that thing balanced just right.

I've only got it posted to facebook right now, so you'll have to log in to watch it, but it's open to everyone to view. It's under 2 minutes, so watch it and let me know what you think.

that mediocre, huh? i'm trying to decide if i should do any more. i've had several people ask about shooting weddings for them recently, although it's not something i really love doing. of course if i charge enough, i'll like it

Truthfully..the motion blur as you call it..killed it for me. What editing software did u use?

i cut it all in FCP. it was 60p, transcoded to prores LT 720p60. the rest of my footage was 24p, a mixture of hdv (1440x1080) and 7d (1920x1080), so i transcoded it to proresLT 720p24.

this clip was at the very end of my 24 frame timeline, right before the credits. 60p slowed 40% to 24. but it added so much blur in that timeline. i pulled some pieces of it into a 60 frame timeline and it played back fine, without all the blur. it wouldn't pull the whole little sequence over though, so i just rendered it out from the 24 frame timeline instead of tracking down the clips again and re-cutting it in the 60 frame one. i even tried changing the sequence playback settings to prores LT 720p60, but it still looked the same in that sequence.

anything i can do differently? i'd like for it to play back smoother on the dvds too. but other than the motion blur, how was it?

I liked it other than that.
