7d Video: uneven/staggered panning

Hi All,

All of the videos I have seen so far that were shot with the 7d seem to exhibit rough/uneven/anything-but-smooth pans, whether handheld or on a tripod.

Is this staggered panning an artifact of compression, or even compression-on-compression? Or is it that no one has a professional fluid-head tripod or other hardware that would enable smooth pans?

Can you point (link) to some examples of what you're seeing? I've seen plenty of smooth pans out of the 7D and other DSLR cameras. The only thing I can think is that it's a 24p artifact, which even shows up in film.
