Hi all ,

Im getting ready to purchase a kesslercrane 12/8.
I was wondering if anybody here have had great succes with the 7d on kesslercrane . It looks like your going to need a remote follow focus system for tracking shots. Which ofcourse I can't afford rightnow :(

Please share your experiences , mishaps etc.
Any input would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks

Yeah, you'll need a remote follow focus to do anything complex. If you just want to do a few nice jib shots, don't move the z-axis of the camera and you'll be fine.

I've used a Glidecam Camcrane for simple shots and they work great without remote gear for simple vertical translations.

The Kessler Crane is a great crane. I have the KC-Lite and it works great so I can only imagine how good the regular Kessler Crane could be.

I would definitely recommend a remote follow focus but in the mean time if you're craning from something high to something low (for example) focus for whatever's high and then move to subject on the ground to wherever he/she/it will stay in focus.

Also make your DOF as deep as possible. It'll deifnitely help.

Here's a commercial I did with the T2i and the KC-Lite if you wanna check it out.
