7D now available on UK high street

The staff in my local Jessies are fairly knowlegable, so I'll drop by and have a chat.
Mind you, I don't like the idea of bundling a type III card when Canon recomend a type IV.
W E bundle an 8 gig type IV.

I'm so tempted, but there's a part of me that's resentful paying an inflated price just because I'm British!

Whoever gets a "final release" (not the pre-release beta) version of a 7D ...

Please let us know what exact video format/signal the HDMI jack outputs "live" while the cam is in both preview and record modes.

Also, please confirm whether or not the HDMI or A/V connector outputs live audio while in either preview or record modes.

Thanks very much, and enjoy your cam(s)!

^ Yes. What he said.

And please also post a short skew test with different panning speeds, and a shaky jello test too!

Please.

It would be funny if in response a video is posted up of someone spouting "skewed" opinions while moving (pots &) pans from side to side with one hand, while shakily holding a wobbly plate of Jello desert in the other hand! :-)

Here's something else funny. Jessops is the biggest camera retailer on the UK highstreet and they will have the first batch of 7Ds in stock at their Manchester city centre store tomorrow.

The number of 7D's shipped to that store will be....

1

Yes. That's 1 for the whole of Manchester. Jessops = useless.

Ive got mine:)...they are doing cheaper deals at uk's digital depot. they have preorders but they had a box of em in front of me....dribble

I think Jessops as a high street retail presence is pretty much dead, and this is the strongest sign yet. They'll move online.

I'd urge anyone considering a 7D in the UK to buy one from eBay and have it shipped from HK, Taiwan or Japan. Canon's are international with English menus and the price of the 7D is £1100 in these regions, so even after tax you've probably saved yourself £400 on the UK 'retail' price.

Yeah, but how about warranty?

i passed by a jessop shop around Angel tube station today and spotted a 7D on display with a tag price of . . . . . £2099 :Drogar-Shock(DBG):

i wonder who's crazy enough to buy it from them
