[7D] 18-135mm kitlens or 28-135mm kitlens??

18-135mm kitlens or 28-135mm kitlens??
which one is better, i like the USM of the 28-135mm and the filter size, but the wide angle of 18-135mm is nice to have also. which should i get?
based on quality of the resulting image? nd maybe some other factors also?
 
I'd get the 18-135 mainly because of the 18 wide. Both looked to be about the same lens.
 
The 18-135 has hard stops for the focus due to its lack of USM. I know some people prefer that. I'm not sure how large they are next to each other though.

Also, the 28-135 was released in 1998 while the 18-135 was release late last year. There's over a 10 year difference between the two. That doesn't necessarily mean one is better but its good to know.
