HPX250: $730 Rebate on the AG-HPX250 + 64 Gb P2 Card

How long has it been taking to get the rebate? Anyone receive theirs yet? I just got my 250 a couple of weeks ago.
 
LOL, I am still waiting its been 3.9.2012. I just went to the rebate site and it say approved, but pending. So I am guessing I will be waiting for the full 14 weeks, or could be the 8, but I am guessing the 14 weeks.:furious3:
 
So get this, went to check on the status of the rebate and last time I printed it out and stuck it next to my keyboard so I had a hard copy. Well good thing I did, went to the web to check it today and its now gone. No status nada, just blank page says "No data found that matches that criteria". So now I get to call and see whats going on, very frustrating hope I get someone that can help on the other end of the phone..... I need to get more gear, but I need the $730 to help me....:crybaby:
 
I just noticed the same thing as you rzr219, When I went to check my status last night it said no data found that matches that criteria, while previously it had been approved.
I did not make a hard copy print out, so I am hoping it's just a glitch on Panasonics end and hopefully my status will show up again.
 
I called first thing this morning 8am, and she said it shows up on the website just fine. I told her I tried it from 2 different computers, and same thing however she said its still pending. I didn't push my luck as she was getting short on the phone, so I am on week 9 and still holding only 3 weeks left till #14 so I will wait and see. So I just checked it and now it shows once more. So print out your status while its there :).
 
Yeah, the rebate folks are a little slow and clunky, but I did receive mine. When I called (the second time) the lady said mine showed completed and sure 'nuf it showed up in the mail a couple of days later. It took longer than I expected/wanted but it DID come. Don't trust the web site! And in the future be sure to keep copies of EVERYTHING so that when you call you can give them all the info. Log every phone call and get the name or some identifier of whom you talked to. $730 ain't chump change!
 
If you search back through the dawn of Panna rebates, you will find all the same complaints going back to the DVX100; slow, poor communication, repeat. I have participated in three different Panna rebates over the years, and they have always been this way. However, I always did receive my due, but talk about bad service; call them up and you get to talk to someone who doesn't care a lick...every time! Not sure why Panna would have such a poorly administered program by a third party fulfillment service, it just pisses folks off. I have participated in many other rebates within the industry, and none have equalled Panna for slow. Also, when I received checks, they look like junk mail, so sort carefully!!!

I checked my rebate status on-line, and I was denied! I called, waited for 15 min. and finally got someone, who, you could tell, was over worked. Said that I didn't send in the bar code off the P2 Box. I said there was NO bar code on the box, but the UPC numbers were printed below the serial, but NO bars. I said the same problem happened with some other guy's, and they had no problems. She said I was the first one that said that.

B.S. She said fax the front of the manual and write the serial number on the manual.. What good is that. She SHOULD have said, fax a copy of the P2 Card, because on the card is the serial number AND the UPC bar code.

This is what I am worried about, I called when I noticed that there were no bar codes on the P2 box and she told me just send in what you have. This was the same girl I spoke to the last time I called I think the name was Tayna. I told here the rebate form (which nobody bothered to proof read for the IS NO BAR CODES ON A P2 CARD BOX) wanted something that do-sent exist and I wanted to make sure my claim has no issues. I also called Panasonic and my local dealer, the Panasonic guy told me he could not help and only the rebate company had final say (so ask for something that doesn't exist then deny when some try s to do what you asked for but cant because they never could in the first place because your rule cant be followed because you want something that just isn't there). I can play by the rules, however very frustrating when the rules make no sense and the person on the other end doesn't know either.......

You're right. I wonder how many of us had a P2 box without the bars. Please sign in......
 
I have not seen any new A-Stock AG-HPX250 cameras arrive without the barcode/serial number tag like the one i took a picture of below.

Ultimately, your dealer and local Panasonic rep should be assisting you on this issue.

When you send in your rebate claims you must make copies of everything. I reccomend sending it in via certified mail.

Its the P2 box not the camera, on the P2 box that is sealed from Japan there are no bar codes on the brown box, just a Serial Number and P2 labels on the outside.

However I just got my rebate card in the mail today, so I can smile once more even though my status shows pending. . . . .

I bought my HPX250 and P2 card from you. The P2 card didn't have any bar codes (stripes). But, I told the lady on the pbone, that the Numbers below the serial is the correct UPC number, just no bars. They just don't get it.

I just picked up an HPX 250 and I have to say it is quite a bargain considering the features. Start with AVC I 10 bit codec, a codec for grown ups and of course the lesser flavors of AVC I and DVC Pro HD. Then it has a monster lens, and a real 1080 worth of resolution and from what I have seen so far amazing highlight handling as compared to the large single sensor cameras south of 16K in price.

We live in an age where one camera does not fill every need which is the same age we have been living in for quite some time. If you want real Imax then shoot friggin Imax and don't scale up something less, and if you want to run and gun with the best in camera recording codec bar none and not have to be concerned if you have the right lens mounted for a certain scenario, then use an HPX 250. no one camera fills every possible niche, but what has happened is that the price, quality and feature set of any given camera has been driven way down, which means you can own several cameras that fit certain niches for far less than the cost of what one Standard def broadcast camera & lens cost 8 years ago. And that standard def broadcast camera would only do NTSC or PAL standard def at a given frame rate: no over or under crank, no frequency switching between 50 & 60 hz. Nowadays every camera from prosumer up seems to switch between video standards, have some form of variable frame rate, and cost far less than I would ever have imagined.
