60D You got my interest now

Actually, the lens mount on all Canon EOS cameras are made of the same thing. From T2i to 7D.

What reasons do you speak of? The 7D and 60D have the exact same video, but the 60D has the articulating screen and manual audio controls. Admittedly, they can be resolved by using an external monitor and secondary audio system, but even the battery on the 7D depletes quicker due to the dual processors. You don't need dual processors for video at that bit rate. As a primary video camera, I don't see any advantage for the 7D over the 60D.

HDMI out of 7d is a huge Advantage, since its HD not SD.

I've just purchased the 60D and am absolutely loving the adjustable screen...it makes getting shots from various angles so much easier...I am so gladI have that feature....I guess if you are using a dedicated monitor then you don't need this....but then if you are happy to be more 'mobile' with essentially a tripod and a camera...it is fantastic...

as to the plastic body, over at dpreview one thread argues it is a blit like the 'glock'..controversial in terms of construction but maybe not as weak as some might suggest...

take a look at the thread....

the lens mount could be made of titanium, if its not an integrated part of a reinforced body that can be a problem. i bonked a D70s with a friends 70-200 VR (nikon gear) against a marble column on vacation years ago; the lens was fine, body was junk. same thing as T2i/60D; metal lens mount, plastic body. i watched my friend drop his D300s on pavement lens down; destroyed the lens shade and UV filter, mangled the lens threads, but lens and body were just fine.

i dont use the onboard audio on DSLR's, we use XLR's to the main camera which has full manual controls. and the 7D has a MASSIVE advantage for a primary camera; full HD out during recording via HDMI. its half the reason i will never use the T2i's as main cameras, only 'set focus and hit record' b-roll cameras. with the XH A1 and focusing LCD's or a borrowed 7D i can go into 1:1 pixel and be SURE focus is dead on or pull focus and know im precisely where i should be.

with the T2i/60D etc, its 1/4 as accurate (SD is 1/4 HD res) so i dont rely on them for main cam shots. i have EXCELLENT eyesight, but i trust a 1:1 mapped 8.9" LCD over a 3" SD LCD ANY day.

dont get me wrong, ANY of these cameras is just as capable as the other in terms of what they can produce; its HOW EASILY its produced that is my issue. from what ive seen and compared, T2i and 7D video is identical, and supposedly 60D video is as well. i would still prefer a 7D for a main cam over a 5D MkII for the full HD out during recording, and im not alone in that respect. again i dont give a damn about low light or insanely shallow DOF; i care about what i deliver to my clients and what saves me time and therefor money. keep in mind i use 3 T2i's, so cost vs effectiveness is in play here. i would (and will) gladly trade my 3 T2i's for a pair of 7D's when economics and a new gen of HDSLR's come around.

The 7D is in my experience a better tool because i can more accurately see precisely what i am recording, not a dumbed down SD output version but a true pixel for pixel output, and im used to that with the XH A1's and other cams ive used. try using an FF and focusing screen/LCD with a T2i or 60D vs a 7D and you tell me it isnt less nerve-wracking to KNOW you nailed the pull with the 7D's HD output.

As a primary camera, yes the 60D is more capable than the T2i, but nowhere near as capable as the 7D for a primary camera; but thats like saying a ford focus is more capable in snow than a honda civic; both are still front wheel drive, while you know damn well that subaru impreza is all wheel drive.
