60D & Pocket HD

What's the best match in image to cut with 60D 1080 25fps footage? I'm doing more severe volcano climbs above 10,000 ft now and my 60D / Tamron 17-50mm had to sit the last one out because of excess weight and possible damage. Up there I hijacked fellow climbers pocket Sony's and Canon's this time to grab a few shots, but will need to gear up next round. weather and shock resistant a big plus. Can be sunny one minute monsoon the next up there.
This is one good reason to keep your 550D with the kit lens at half the weight and 100% the image

GoproHD Hero will do 1080 25p although its fish eye but thats what you want most of the time :)

Since its been almost 2 days, and no real experience about the question has been shared, may a suggest you bring a couple SD cards and your current camera of choice, and head to the nearest camera store or shopping mall, and shoot comparison tests with the store's demo units.

depending on how light and how much:

Nice, and its one of the new Digic5 chip models. I wonder if the video has less moire/aliasing?

I've heard good things about the Canon SX40 on various photography podcasts. Having 24p is nice on a camera in that price range.

I had a look at the Canon Powershot S95 yesterday which looks cool and also has 24fps. Also has manual aperture and shutter control. Now if they could make it waterproof and shock resistant with a 24mm view instead of a 28mm it would be perfect
But wait, Canon just announced the S100/
